Fletcher, good to hear from you. I hope to see you in the MJs Super Bowl party.

I agree that half bets are probably a good way to go.

It seems that QB Brady has an uncanny knack of looking at the defense and finding the weaknesses. I feel he is one of the best ever at that. Then again, it may be equal parts of an excellent coaching staff. Either way.....

It appears the Steelers will play run and defense. The Patriots should be ahead after the first Q.
Your opinion??

going to wait on weather bubba, this will be a game won in the off line of either team point blank who ever wins the running game baring fluke plays will win this game. and people don't give cower enough credit, he is a hell of a coach, lookat how long he has been around, had a bad year last year but hell they were using training squad players.

blue it will crush city and team if they lose this game and players know it, that can be good or bad, i like controled rage on the field when I coached and played, the sport doesnot matter you need to have controled rage, now if your to up then you make mistakes and your ass gets so tight you can't squezze a bb out of it. Pitchers in college baseball are good for that in their first start of the season for about 2 innings every pitcher don't care who they are or play for. but the emontional factor is huge so if pats get up early steelers could maybe get that bb ass going and be in trouble, a game like this can alwasy get out at the half for the most part because of the line.

good luck bubba will let you know as soon as i make up my mind.

No problem I was sure you had my lingo down by now:D If I would take my time and reread what I wrote. Things would sound much better and be spelled right most of the time.

I just get going and look out, but if I changed people would have to learn all over again or think I was sick or abducted by alien's.

Won't be long till pitchers and catchers come into town, I will be there for about 3.5 weeks will get intouch with you before I come in, have a nice extra guest passes that come with my mlb dues and great for spring training, can go places others can't, and see so inside works fans from the north can't see. Don't think my dad will make it with me this year I have another scout who I meat there and then my dad, so looks like 1 extra space at this point.

the rule change this year ref; def 2ndary touching receivers,
doesn't that help pitt. but then since pitt will probably run much more than pass maybe it doesn't matter. just seems like that was a big part of ne success against rams in SB and against panthers last year. seems like last sundays weather makes that hard to factor in.
(how will this new rule affect ne in this years critical postseason games) heck it seemed like colts off was hardly ever on the field for this to be a factor.

I have 2 friends and 4 family members who will be at the steelers game. They will have their cell phones on. I will give you temp , wind speed ,wind direction as to how it will and is effecting the field and ball in warm-ups and conditions of the field.

Will call them every 30 mins maybe every 15 if it is real bad on Sunday. I would say about 2 hours before kickoff time. They all said they would be in their seats and friends are in field box so will get you good real time inside field weather for you on Sunday if you want me to do it .

It is all up to you all if you think it will help you out if you don't want they info I won't waste my time posting it. Wind does blow different inside the stadium then if you were living in a part of Pittsburgh, so if you want these reports let me know and I will post them in this thread.

Really appreciate this kind of info! I will be out watching the games at the local joint(I dont get bothered by the family) and will have to come back at halftime of the first game, so what ever you can do would be great!

Noticed you are already on the Under strong anyway. Thanks for the tip.

Franky
P.S. And by the way, the contacts you gave me for the wedding thing was great :mj14: Tell Jerri too :)

good I am glad it went well, if anyone is going to philly game from here , and has a cell it would be nice if they emailed me and I could call them and do the same thing for the eagles game, but i have people from pittsburgh the good side of the state:D none in philly, so if anyone is going and reads this and wants to help email me and i will do the same with the eagles game I can call you and then give reports. Don't think ray is going or I could call him, he is about my only contact there , well have tim also but if we can get 1 person and number it will help or can't hurt.

Ok overnight live forecast. for Pittsburgh. They cleared 8 inches of snow off the tarp late today put tarp back down, the heating element under field has been running for almost 18 hours now, just got off the phone live from the steel city.

kick-off now wind could change some, temps won't temps at kick off will be 10-15 degrees and wind chill of zero, looking at a low during mid part of first half to halftime of 8 degrees wind chill below zero right now to early to call but when that cold a few degrees here or there up or down won't matter, ball will be like a rock with a slick sheen on it.

Like I said wind blows very weird inside it will be coming from north north east which will make it a angle cross wind to-wards the point which for those who don't know is down on the open side of the river where they all come together. Wind was to be 15-18 mph but now saying could be a little harder up and down with gust(but in weather winds can change and hard to predict till the day) the direction will be slanting to-wards the right corner of the south open end zone, so wind will be something to watch and we might be able to get a good first half play in or we will get one out as we in me and friends who are sending reports to me.

Those who have been to either pnc or Heinz know what I am talking about with the weird winds, almost like a old candle stick effect, will get readings from the big flags and the flags on goal post.

Will have first game day report out about 9 or 10 am pst my time not from field but from outside of the house in monroeville. Then will start with live reports about 1 hour before kickoff which is 630 so say 645 pm est by the time they go through with all the pregame stuff.

coverman you can get my email and number off my site. just look for banner at the top of one of the pages on here and free plays are posted all the way at the bottom of front page. banner comes up about every 3rd cycle can't miss it, has my name in it and is blue, that is as much info as i can give out here.

Hey no-one from here is going to be at philly game? If so please email me and send me your cell and i will send you my house and cell so we can do the same for the eagles game. Hard to believe that no-one from here will be there. Maybe we will get lucky and someone will see this who is going and we can get the live info for that game.

Good Luck

Eric

Why in the world would they want to heat the field????
The Steelers are straight ahead power runners. Bettis already came out saying he wanted the field as bad as possible. A good field would help Patriots RB Dillon, who is more of a sweep and cutback runner.

In another thread it was said that the Owners have the decisions about the field.

Lurie in Philly for instance.

Just got my am call from Pittsburgh it is sunny right now, a whole 8 degrees and winds blowing between 12-15, kick off wind chill has been changed to -3 below and to get colder as night goes on.

Next call will be when they get into their seats and check the flags on the wind so I know for sure. He also said still calling for winds 15 mph steady tonight and some gust, but like I said wind can change, temps won't change much but a wind could die down not saying it will, but a wind at Heinz at that speed makes it very tough on the field because it blows weird still coming from the north north east which sends it across at a angle to-wards open end of the field to-wards the back corner of end zone.

Will be back when they get in seats .

Bubba that is a owners/stadium call and harder to run on frozen field then unfrozen, if it is frozen no cleat even a 3/4 inch will grab the ground. And for what that system cost you can bet they are going to use it.

good work Vinnie.

Also Bubba as I said a frozen field is way different then a beat up torn up field, JB does not want a frozen field because you can't get leg drive even as a straight ahead runner , your feet will slip as you try and dig in to drive.

Ball will stay frozen makeing it a dead ass ball that is rock hard with a sheen on it, don't be shocked to see some guys take the gloves off with a frozen even the neoprene gloves make it slip more, now to keep hands warm yes for grip your screwed either way almost. Some will use them some won't they will just have to try them in pregame same with cleat size, to see what works best, have 3 different type of gloves just like cleats so they will try them all , but really when ball is like that nothing really works great except hand and arm strength to hold on to the ball.

I also know it will suck if your hand gets smacked by the head gear or stepped on.
