That kinda week last week when the woulda/shoulda/coulda bites in the azz hurt twice as much. A missed extra point and a fourth down penalty giving the "girls" new life turned a potential great week into just a good week
Lotsa red in the forecast this week. Beginning with the Bucs on Saturday. We all know all about the poor performance record of TB in the cold, and about the three games and ultra travel miles accumulated in 20 days. This is by no means a gimme for the Pats. Still not sure if Brady will be close to 100%. Getting 5 with an improved Phil Simms this week looks just as good as the 6 did against the Panthers last week, where TB was not given much of a chance to win the game. Think these two "d's" keep this one close in the New England cold and the points will get the cover.
Love the Chiefs getting the field goal in New York tomorrow. Larry Johnson running through this porous defense, hindered further by the injury to middle linebacker Antonio Pierce, should put enough points on the board to get them the straight up win. Hoping Eli will remain in his slump long enough to get KC their first win in New York in six tries. Manning's 15 interceptions are approaching his 21 tds. C'mon Eli! We want your pick total to match your touchdowns :mj14: Like the over here as well, but haven't nailed a NY over total in three attempts. I give up
Looking forward to Sunday with the Redskins hosting the "boys." We all remember how the Dallas "D" folded in the final minutes to Santana Moss in the last game. Won't have to wait nearly as long this time to see the victory. Usually don't like to wager on the same team winnng both regular season contests, especially when Dallas has owned the skins (14 out of the last 15 before week #2). But I like this low number for the home fav, and if Portis can do to the Cowboys what Larry Johnson did last week, well..... :mj14:
Sticking with the Red Theme, taking the Cardinals at a pick over the Texans. Can Houston win at home, or better yet do they want to win? With Reggie Bush in contention (or the number one pick if they trade) I think they've packed it in. A little controversy in their play last week pushes me away from playing them here. Couple that with the Cards number one passing attack against that Texas "D" and I'll take Phoenix straight up
Not red per se, but the Falcons could have alot of blood mixed in with the red uniforms by the end of the night when they face off against the Bears. That's if the Bear unit that was tops in the defensive categories for 13 weeks shows up. That highly touted Chicago "D" looked absolutely putrid last week. Mike Brown is the key to this defense as evidenced by his absense against the Steelers. Green looked completely lost and Urlacher trying to cover up for him had a way below sub par All-pro performance!! With Harris out at safety along with Brown, and now Johnson hobbled, Michael Vick will have chapped lips in the Chicago frigid air from licking his chops :mj07: . Atlanta, like Tampa Bay, isn't supposed to be a cold weather team. But if you put a scrambling Mikey out there against last weeks ?team? and let him hit Crumpler with that weakened secondary.....give me Atlanta plus the three. Can't believe I'm going against a TITFD but....and if the Bears win I surely won't be too disappointed
The non-red colors I like this week are the GREEN Bay Packers and probably the Steelers :scared (Oh no.....first you go against Scott and the TITFD and now opposite the worm. What the hell's wrong with me?????) More on these two teams later :mj14:
