2002 YTD: 6 - 4 = +4.16 units

got kicked in the teeth last week, going 0-3 with the teasers...

time to get back on track.

1) Chicago +3.0 -105 ( 2 units)

from a website:
Even at 1-2, the Bills could be the surprise team of the year, following Chicago's pattern from 2001. It'll just take them another week to get started

Buffalo's offense is as balanced as a couple of Ding-Dongs and a can of Mountain Dew for breakfast, but we sure like watching new QB Drew Bledsoe heave the rock all over God's green earth. Sure the bloody-necked signal-caller leads the NFL with 1,107 passing yards, and WRs Peerless Price and Eric Moulds have combined for 646 receiving yards to lead the league. But just as Bledsoe is the QB the Bills have been looking for since Jim Kelly retired, the offense hasn't found its next Thurman Thomas.

Forget about RB Travis Henry's 149-yard, 3-TD performance in the season opener; the Jets have shown they can't stop a wounded cockroach with a butterfly net and a can of Raid. That leaves 31 ypg game on the ground against Denver (understandable) and Minnesota (wha-wha-what?).

And Chicago learned a valuable lesson last week -- a 20-point lead isn't safe. That 29-23 loss to New Orleans was a tough pill to swallow for the prideful Bears, and they sure won't let Buffalo have a chance in this game. LB Brian Urlacher will be all over Bledsoe.

Bottom line: The Bear rebound with a sound win at Buffalo.

2) Tampa Bay -8.0 ( 2 units)

from a website:
It was Tampa Bay?s turn in Week 3 to beat St. Louis, and now Jon Gruden takes his act on the road to face a wobbly, winless team. The Bengals are turning the offensive reins over to QB Akili Smith, who deserves a shot after Gus Frerotte and Jon Kitna failed miserably. Despite a load of injuries on the Bucs? defense, Gruden will look for his offense and special teams to take flight on Sunday in this inter-conference matchup. If Tampa Bay limits Corey Dillon on the ground, it could be another long day for Bengals fans in the Queen City.

3) New England ML -185 ( 2 units)

sd will have the same start they did like last season..and then begin to fade....can they beat the PATS?

I don't think so...i just don't like the -3.5

This is the marquee matchup of the week. The Patriots will devise a scheme to discourage Drew Brees from taking too many chances in the passing game. However, the Bolts will not be able to win this game with LaDainian Tomlinson alone. Tom Brady has attempted more passes than any other QB in the NFL. While he might not need to hoist it 45 times this week, the Pats should control the clock and the tempo of the game with their staunch defense and grind-it-out ground game.

4) CAROLINA +7.0 vs the PACK ATTACK ( 1 unit)

While the Panthers are 3-0, they are coming off a 1-15 season. Lambeau Field is one of the most difficult stadiums to play in for an opposing team. The Packers are smarting after last week?s near disaster in Detroit and will come out with guns-a-blazin? on Sunday. RB Ahman Green should play this week, but he won?t be 100 percent. Still and all, don?t discount the Panthers. This won?t be a blowout. John Fox?s team plays very good defense, runs the ball well, and commits few turnovers.

5) Philadelphia -20 ( one unit)
34 - 6 score anyone?

6) jets +3.0 ( one unit)
The Jets are reeling after consecutive blowout losses to AFC East rivals New England and Miami. New York needs Vinny Testaverde to have a big day through the air in order for the Jets to get back to the .500 mark. However, Jags? QB Mark Brunell is well-rested after last week?s bye, and RB Fred Taylor is actually 100 percent healthy. Jimmy Smith has been his old self since returning from a prolonged contract holdout. The Florida heat, which the Jets played in last week in Miami, could also be a factor

7) Minnesota +3 ( one unit)
The Randy Moss saga will certainly carry over into this contest, but that shouldn?t even be the biggest worry for Mike Tice. The Vikings need to start running the ball more and with greater efficiency. Seattle, which lost a tough game to the Giants on the road last week, is in search of its first win at its brand-new stadium. In order for that to happen, Shaun Alexander needs to break out of his early-season slump.
