henderson,nv.
here are some numbers simple capping.
pats play in a weaker slower conf say what you want but its a fact.

off pats 19th in afc
deff pats 24th in afc

off pitt 3rd in afc
deff pitt 1st

pitt 8-1 at home
7-2 ats
avg marg of vic. at home 16.8

talked myself out last week not this week

pitt-9 4*

yes rams scored some points but it wasnot due to off.

warner isnot healthy, and the deff he will face will give him trouble gb out played the rams on off in the numbers but gave to many free points away.

philly's deff cor. knows rams system very well.
philly has only given up 1 td in last 4 playoff games
have on given up 21 points twice this year and play on turf.

rams will win but 12.5 is a big number to give a deff team like this

philly +12.5 3*

7 point teaser 5*
pitt-2/philly+19.5
good luck

I agree fletch way to many points to be giving eagles this week. Tough DT that doesnt give up alot of points. If the eagles can hold rams under 24 they will win the game outright. See you in a week or so. Good luck

agree...

Philly is playing their best ball at the end of the year. Pitt should win convincingly, but a strong running game and strong defense could lead to a low scoring ball control type game. I can envision NE covering the spread with a last minute "meaningless" score.

Therefore, I'm all over that teaser. Pitt -2.5 Philly + 19 (teased 6.5) :)

Fletcher, thanks for your early look at the nfl for the weekend. I personnally have played Pittsburgh at -8 early in the week,(5* for me) and also played under 49.5 St Louis for 3*.

Was thinking of teasing Phila up to 18 along w/ pitt down to 3.

Was also thinking of teasing (9points) Pitt/ St Louis / St L over 40. What do you think?

Also Raymond being from Phila, is he going to play the hometown team this week. I figured you guys have talked about it alittle since he has been there.

:p

I think that some people are making a big deal about "The Bus" being able to play or not play. Personally, I would rather see "Famous Amos" anyway. He doesn't have all the power of the bus, but much faster and shiftier runner. I think their offense is better with the "Z" man. But Jerome would do nothing but help. It's a win-win situation.

NE is 24th in D, but they're pretty good in scoring defense. (D is measured in total yards, for those of you who don't know).

What's that indicate? Good red zone schemes? Playing with a lead a lot of times? High-risk, high-reward corners? Maybe all that.

Some teams do play better D in the red zone. There's lots of reasons for it. Some corners can cover tight but not run with guys on the deep ball. That's negated in the red zone. Blitzes might not be as risky because your d-backs are closer to the line. You have good goal-line personnel. blah. blah. blah.

Pitt has also not had great fortune in the red-zone this season. And we know what kind of trouble Kris Brown has had at the Ketchup Bowl.

That's my arguments for NE. I don't like how their O matches up with Pitt's D, but I won't go into it. I got on PITT -8 (-110) early, and I've hedged half of it at NE +9.5 (+100). I think I might get rid of the other half now that we're at +10 (-110).

GL to all.

I agree with you Shrimp. NE defense bends but does not break. They have only given up two TD's in last 5 games.
I think Pittsburgh is highly overated. They had real easy easy schedual and Baltimore never tested them last week.
I could be wrong but I see this as a very close game.

In amount of points given up Pittsburgh is #1 in AFC, Patsies are number 3. Both gave up the same amount of touchdowns, 26. The difference is in fg's. The Steelers only gave up 9 and the Pats 30. That is probably do to the field conditions at Heinz.

Sorry Fletch about this comment and taking up space in your post but that last comment by Thunderdoll has to be addressed.
Thunder,
Show a little reason why you think Pitt is overrated and NE is not. You have no backing. The Steelers are legit so give them their due. And start a seperate post so we can debate that topic if you want.

One thing I never hear about is how good the receivers from Pittsburgh are. Granted, Kordell Stewart has completely done a 180 at QB, but it doesn't hurt to have two big, strong receivers who can catch it. Burress will be a top 5 receiver in the NFL soon, and Hines Ward has become as dependable as they come. They will really challenge the PATS skilled DB's, especially when they're nosing around the line of scrimmage looking for the Bus, Amos or Kordell.
Everyone knows about Pitt's D. And NE strengh of power running plays right into Pitt's hands. You can throw on Pitt but only if Gildon or Bell doesn't take your head off first.
I agree with most, I like Pitt in a low scoring game. Pitt can control the game with their D, and both facets of their O.

I'm a big Rams fan so everything I post is biased. However, this stuff with Kurt Warner's ribs is starting to scare me like seeing his wife in the morning. Good luck all...
