6-5-1
Week 4 and system time!!
ok...road teams with 2 wins are a stellar 22-3 v. home teams with just 1 win in last 25.
Clearly teams with more will to win, and better back-ups win more 'meaningless' games.
So, we have Jets +2.5 @ Philli. Clemens has been on fire this pre-season. Tuiasosopo is a proven reserve. Feeley is only just, Kolb a rookie.
Philli won game 2, as 'revenge' for a terrible game 1, but back to not caring last week.
Dallas +2 @ Minni. Started as -3 favs, but presumably the signing of Holcomb has moved the line. Sure, he will be competing with Bollinger for back-up QB, but??
i) They'll both be playing with second rate supporting cast, and ii) Brad Johnson is better than them both!
Not sure Dallas will be too happy about last week. I suspect they'll get the job done here.
Pittsburgh +4. Line quickly falling with news than Carolina will be playing a rookie QB for the whole game! Batch been doing everything right, St. Pierre been in the system for a few years.
Looks a stretch to see the Panthers winning by more than a FG.
Home 'dogs with 2 wins are as impressive 7-1. New Orleans +1.5. 'Dogs with Brees not playing...Martin playing first half, Palko the second, but not sure why Miami will be taking the game any more seriously...
...don't expect to see too much out of the preseason finale.
Miami's starters will take the night off as coach Cam Cameron hopes continued work on the practice field brings the desired results when the games count come Sept. 9 in Washington.
Home advantage seem to give that bit of extra motivation.
Other games I'm playing...KC v. SL under 37
I'm gunna ride the KC under train for as long as I can. 37 seems a big number.
Scores so far of 12, 10 & 7...Johnson back, but will get 2-3 carries if he's lucky.
SL showing no signs at all of wanting to run up a pre-season score...13, 13, 10.
Both D's are under-rated.
Won't be surprised to see 34 by game time.
Denver -4
Just a play on Denver and Shanahan. They are 6-1 in their last 7 pre-season finales...inc. 29-23 @ 'Zona last season.
Hopefully there'll be a team or two who want to play starters for more than their opp to get things rolling into the season...
