Saturday the Flyers could clinch a playoff spot, be eliminated from playoff contention or have to wait another day to seal their fate. If they get in, they will face the Washington Capitals in the opening round.
The Flyers can clinch a spot if they beat Pittsburgh in any fashion and either the Detroit Red Wings or Boston Bruins lose in regulation.
The Flyers would be eliminated if they lose in regulation and both the Red Wings and Bruins get at least a point or if they get one point and both the Red Wings and Bruins win.
Sunday becomes a meaningful game if each the Red Wings, Bruins and Flyers get one point on Saturday. The Flyers would then need to beat the Islanders to get in.
