A question regarding the 48/50 game proposed schedule - why don't they bump it up to 60 games and have the playoffs extend into July? Realize you would have to delay free agency for the upcoming off-season, but figure the players would prefer to yield on that to play more games.
Good question! My thinking is with the expanded playoffs, teams gettin in, etc., they will keep the schedule down to 48/50, keep travel $$$ down, and go from there.
Also, if Dave Thomas was still around and he ate one of them spicy chicken san-weeches, he'd melt that ice worse than July would in most rinks!! j/k
It will be an interesting season, even as short as it will be.
Canes, RedWings, Flyers top 3 teams to watch for sure. I wish the Leafs would be up there, but I'm a fraid not!

I'm glad that people that do the things they do, like selling hawt dawgs and pop-kern and ICE COLD BEAR get to do their thing and the puck drops and the nets cling with missed shots and the nets get scorched with 100 mph puck nut sacks!!

Oh and PS: I wish the Minnesota Wild would buy back their name from Dallas and go with Minnesota North Stars like eons ago and Dallas can be named the Dallas Sizzle!! Cuz their ice melts faster than the southern and 7's I drink when I'm in DFW!
Nah they are locked in for 8, with reneg in the works, this total contract is for 10 years.5 years til the next work stoppage, if we just follow the trends
