We shall see...! All I know is Weis took a ND team that was ranked in the preseason outside of the top 50 and ended up in top 6. Most of the EXPERTS said we would start 0-6. All I know is this year Weis did a better job of coaching and in terms of RECRUITING it's not even close. Weis will be on top for awhile. GL

. . . maybe this is where the animosity came from (in addition to the Sugar Bowl beatdown)

"First of all, Steve is a great coach," Weis said. "I think the one thing that is a little different though is that the defense in the NFL they will figure you out in a hurry. If every time a team blitzes and you throw a slip screen, that's just what he did. Everyone in the league knew it. - Weis in August.

Spurrier could always recruit but when Florida was matched athletically on the field, the Gators didn't get the best results.

Like I said, boy that Spurrier was one hell of a coach in the NFL. :mj07: The only people who don't think Weis is legit are the people in the South who are blinded by the SEC. But then again there isn't much to do in Alabama. Watch us on Jan. 3rd then you will see a great coach.

I will watch your meaningless bowl and see another SEC team get outcoached and beat by a Big 10 team. GL

Wow, you sure are fiesty.

You talk like Notre Dame didn't get shelled in a meaningless bowl last year by the 4th best team in the Pac-10.

Auburn is 2-0 in their last 2 bowl games against the big-10. But you were probably too busy watching re-runs of Rudy to notice.

Weis may become one of the great coaches in college football, but to compare him at this point to Steve Spurrier is pushing it. He has done a good job turning the Irish around this year, but let's not rename the library just yet.

This a totally different team than last year. In fact, we didn't have a coach for the bowl game. My suggestion to you is to kick back in the trailer and sip on some moonshine and watch us on Jan. 2nd. You will then see a true offensive genious. Cheers.

BBC - I totally agree. Spurrier was laughed at by several coaches in the NFL. I figured Weis said something in the past, but wasn't sure.

Dirty Diapers talks about Weis like he has done everything in the NFL a oach can do. If he is so good how come he aint coaching there. By the way Spurier was a head coach in the NFL. How many rings Charlie win while being head coach by the way.
Some coaches might consider Weis "one" of the best offensive minds in football, and im not going to argue, but I will garuntee more coaches consider Spurier one the best best college football coaches of all time.
Spuriers record speaks for itself. So does Weis' so let the numbers speak for themselves. You like bringing up past history but when someone bringsup ND record in the past 7 bowls, 0-7 lol, you say no that doesnt matter we are a different team. I hate spurier because I think he is a cocky peice who actually gave himself the game ball (not kidding) after a big win one game. I love Weis and will root for ND in the bowl game. But you have absolutely nothing to argue if you are saying that Spurier is a bad caoch and Weis is better at college football.
