Nielson Ratings

I think I read a thread on here the other day about noone ever meeting anyone that was asked to participate in the Nielson Ratings. We just received a package in the mail.

Has anyone else ever been selected for this? Did you participate?

I think this is a rather odd way to judge TV viewership.

Yes I got a call the other day and they said to expect a packet on Thursday.

I got a call about 2 yrs. ago in regards to that, they were shocked when I told them I was not interested, they seemed insulted and then started with a hard pitch:shrug: that always goes over well with me, so I just hung up and never heard another thing.

i got a mailing once from Nielson Inc, or whatever they're called. I wasn't getting a nielsen box, but they wanted me to keep a TV diary for a week. Here's the funny part: they put $2 in cash in the envelope. I guess to sort of guilt you into filling it out.

i filled it out. no sweat off my back.
