Kent St -6.5 over Fairfield *****
Kent St just lost to Akron by 3 and missed the senior prom. So its off to the Junior Prom{NIT}Kent is better in almost all aspects,scoring,FG%,3 pt,FT%,rebounding,etc.Stags have a better defense but that's against a weaker conference...
Fairfield can't score. They are ranked 316th in scoring pts.Take Needham out and the Stags are hurting...two weeks before the tourney they lost to Manhattan 34-31...Marist beat them by 7,Albany by 8 and in the 1st round of the tourney they were behind St Peters most of the game but pulled it out...Kent has a good gd in Holt and Evans is a 6'8 fd who can score...they can hit the 3...they are playing at home...Flashes should win this by 10-15 pts..
Game was postponed due to snow...line went up a half pt but still love Kent...
Long Island -1 over JMU ***
Think Blackbirds can be big trouble for JMU...esp with their top scorer out the 1st half..even if that didn't happen LIU has probably the best passer in the nation in Brickman...see's the floor better then anybody..the other gds are great passers..Olaswere can score and rebound..I know they play weaker comp in their conf but the Blackbirds can flat out score points.
Boise st -2 over LaSalle **
Boise can shoot the 3 and LaSalle can't defend the 3..Boise can rebound and LaSalle can't.
Mass -4.5 over Stony Pt **
To much Chazz and Minutemen have played well.
At home think they win this by 10-12 pts.
Zona -4 over Det **
Houston +2.5 over Texas **
Barnes said he is only doing the CBI for Kabango...Coogs are young but can score..think they have more emotion and energy tonite.
I'm leaving for Vegas in about two hours so I'll post some games..not sure if I can post on my new Galaxy 3...can read but typing is tough..
Butler -3 over Bucknell **
Seems like the whole world is on Bucknell..Muscala inside,etc,etc...love Bucknell and their style but Butler is the wrong match for them...Smith can keep Muscala in check somewhat but who keeps Clarke in check...
Valpo +10.5 over Mich St **
Despite it almost being a home game for the Spartans think Valpo can keep it close.Broekhoff will have to earn his pts. Valpo has a lot of seniors...and experience...
South Dakota St +11 over Michigan **
Wolters alone can keep the Jackrabbits close.
Oregon +3.5 over Ok St **
Forget about all the seeding problems.Keep Smart and his other gds in check..Ducks have some real talent..
New Mexico St +9 over St Louis **
St Louie is on a great run...Aggie have a talented gd in Mullings..Sid is 7'5 and although he runs the floor like "Lurch" of the Adams Family he does alter shots inside. Sy is tough..think Aggies can keep this close..
California +2.5 over UNLV **
Last 2 games Cal didn't play well..Before that they were playing solid hoops...its a home game for them...think I will see the Rebels downtown on Flamingo Blvd saturday nite..
Cuse -10 over Montana ****
Mont lost their top scorer..think any team seeing the 2-3 with length on the wings will have trouble.
NC St -4.5 over Temple **
Wyatt for the Owls is big time...but the Pack have Leslie and company...in a short series this team has the potential to be a sweet 16...Pack have 4 starters pack from last yr tourney...
Ohio St -13.5 over Iona *****
Its a repeat of the Maryland-Niagara game last nite. Iona can score on anybody and anybody can score on Iona...they play no freak'in defense...no help side,no offensive fouls,etc,etc...Momo is a big time gd..Armond can shoot.Laurey coming in after Dec has given them an inside presence...but he is 6'6 and dominates the paint...but that is in the MAAC...lets not forget Iona came in 4th in the MAAC this yr...we all knew they had the talent to win it but something called defense got in the way.
We all know or saw Ohio St this weekend. Craft who they say is the best ball defender in the country will draw Momo. Ohio St can play great defense.... Thomas at 6'7 is a monster inside or outside..Ross,Thompson,Williams are all big boys...Iona has nothing to stop the inside..Bucks control the bds and play defense...Iona will get some points but not enough to stop the Bucks...MAAC teams in the 1st round always seemed to get pummeled in the opening round...
