for those that haven't noticed, derrick nix is out for saturday's game at uab, after having surgery to relieve an impingement on a nerve in his leg. this is not good news for a so miss offense that has averaged 15 ppg over the last five games and was shut down last week at tcu. altough they have only played 2 times prior, this game has developed into a tough rivalry game based upon geography and conference and bowl ramifications. with both teams 3-1 in c-usa play, this year looks to play out similiar to last years 3-0 smu win. to me, uab is a very attractive home dog in this spot, and i'll be looking at the under also as soon as i see a total posted on the game.

check my thread on page 2(obscure dog-moneyline play)....we saw the same thing...there`s a history here of coverage by uab...and so miss` rushing "d" sucks(over 200 ypg last 3)....usm 2-11 ats last 13 as a visitor....g.l.

gardenweasel, thanks. just went and read your post, somehow i missed it the first time through. i think your take is on the money. this is a very attractive play imo. how do you feel about utah state?

they seem to hang pretty tough at home...i think there will be a public push on n mx st and i`m gonna wait to see if i can get 3...if i get 2.5 might buy to 3....n mx st has a little trouble putting any distance between themselves and their opponents...i`d probably take the pts with the home dog...not strong for me,though....g.l.
p.s.-if you really look at that uab game,that line looks absolutely wrong...it seems to be based purely on the perception that this so miss club is as strong as past editions...and that`s incorrect.
