from earlier in week at bottom....

Injury update: Junior quarterback McKamey practiced Tuesday and showed no signs of lingering problems from a minor concussion that sidelined him Saturday at Wyoming.

McKamey was cleared to play in Saturday's game at San Diego State, but team doctors said they will evaluate him daily to make sure he does not suffer a relapse.

McKamey has injured his head three times during the past 18 months.

San Diego State sophomore running back Lynel Hamilton, who missed the Aztecs' game at Utah, will play this week against the Lobos. Hamilton is his team's leading rusher with 404 yards and six touchdowns on 100 carries.

Packed house: San Diego State should boast a true home-field advantage in cavernous Qualcomm Stadium on Saturday. The Aztecs have averaged 49,419 fans per game in their first three games this season.

Role reversal: San Diego State has defeated every Mountain West foe it lost to last season and fallen to every league team it defeated last season. The Lobos earned 19-9 win over San Diego State in University Stadium last season.

Soggy workout: Long wasn't happy with the Lobos' Tuesday practice, which was hampered by steady rain. Lightning forced the team inside 10 minutes early. The bad weather forced student managers to stop filming practice after 20 minutes, limiting the footage coaches use to review assignment errors players make during practices.

The Tuesday practice is typically considered one of the more important workouts of the week because it is a full-contact workout when players work on the Lobos' game plan.

"It was pretty sloppy out there and certainly not the kind of practice we wanted," Long said.

His rainy day woes might end soon.
