So much for that OU argument of "but we are better now." This is Bob Stoops in 2002 after hearing talk that Colorado would beat Oklahahoma if they played again (OU won the game 27-11):

In the immediate wake of Oklahoma University?s 27-11 win over Colorado University more than a month ago, the Buffs strongly voiced their desires for a rematch with the Sooners. Colorado?s comments irked Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops, who believed Colorado had its chance, and blew it accordingly.

?Everybody gets their shot when it comes on Saturday,? he said in November. ?Everybody knows the date. Be ready to play. If you watch the PGA, they don?t get a mulligan on the first tee, do they??

Of course there is also the "but we are hot now" which I didnt see OU trumpeting in 2003 after losing the Big 12 Title game by 4 touchdowns and still playing for the BCS title.

No boo hoo...it is what it is in a shitty system and once you lose once its out of your hands-unless you are Auburn. Just pointing out that Stoops is full of shit in his current statements.

As for Tech I have written repeatedly -though the usual dumbasses in this forum refuse to pay attention to what people actually post-that I have no problem with an argument of Tech going over Texas.

But it is also true that nobody is advocating Tech as the 3 way winner - nobody. Heck not even Tech people. It's just used as a prop for folks trying to support OU in the debate because OU has nothing else to argue. Good grief you mean if Baylor had held on against Tech you would all be on the Texas bandwagon? Please.

As for the computers they do almost all have OU as Number 1. They also have Texas No 2 with the stronger SOS and they dont include Ou's game with Chattanooga. It's also true that regardless of who wins the SEC title game Texas will be ahead of that team in the computers, so I guess those of you citing computers will demand an OU-Texas game. I would certainly think any objective person would call a home loss to Ole Miss worse than a road loss to Texas Tech.

Oh...then again probably not...because you dont think out anything you just want to knock down who you dont like. Although I do enjoy comments from fans of schools like Arizona and Kansas - easy to throw darts when your team hasnt wont a conference title in probably your entire lifetime.

I hate to be the one to tell you this.

But the winner of Florida/ Alabama game is going to the national championship game. Thats a guarantee you cant even argue.

The computers they use for this are more rigged than the poker sites.

Texas is out.

See ya next year.

With Saturday's winner almost certain to grab one of the spots in the BCS championship game Jan. 8 in Miami, Florida's offensive dominance has made it the popular pick -- and it's made a 31-30 home loss to Ole Miss in late September seem like ancient history.:SIB

booo fking hooo

here's a suggestion, just start a new thread:

title: big 12 picks, dec 6th
content: land thieves 5x, play of the year

you might just guarantee texas to play in the title game with your record this year.

I have read many different articles and listened to numerous sports talk radio shows. Rumor has it that Florida has to wide of a gap to surpass Texas in the computer polls. This is do to the fact that the computer polls have Alabama at #3 and Florida at #6.

As everyone knows the BCS is about making $$$$$$. The media has put a lot of attention to the Big 12 and I could see them trying to set up a Red River Rematch. Do I personally think it will happen? NO. But, it does make since for money and advertisement purposes. It is like one talk show said... People who do not watch football would tune into that game due to the fact of all the publicity and hype it is receiving. When more people are watching equals more money for advertising. Additionally, the city of Miami would make more money b/c many Fla fans would be driving down the day of the game and leaving after or the following day. OU and TX would Come in on Wednesday and more then likely stay the weekend. For money purposes and ratings it does make since.

Question for everyone? Especially Sun. If people believe TX is a better team. If this would happen which has zero validity to it. Let's just say Florida barely beats Bama and does not surpass TX. What is everyone's prediction on the OU/TX point spread if they would re-match in the National Championship? I am very curious to see everyone's predictions.
