I thought when they successfully scored a TD on the fake FG in OT that he actually might have saved his job.

Now I think he's in trouble.

There is no thinking.... He is gone. Maybe sooner than later.

I think Dooley bet his yearly salary on the Over and needed OT. Why else would you run the time out with 0:54 seconds to go, on their own 40, w/ 2 time outs & only a FG needed to win?!

Anyone close to the Vols program on this site?
If so, who is at the top of their list to coach this team?

I know many are going to say John Gruden but I honestly doubt it.

Tony Montana: I got ears, ya know. I hear things.

In all seriousness, it's gonna take 8 years/$40 million, to get Chucky. He also wants big money to get Rich Bisaccia and Juan Castillo as assistants. I am unclear of what exactly he wants for them.

Trustees have been meeting behind the scenes and have told AD, Dave Hart, to STFU until they tell him what to do. He has already fawked up one situation at UT, so he is toeing the line.

The trustees want someone in place before they fire Dooley, and he is gone, just a matter of today, tomorrow, or in two weeks. They major factor is of course, cash, and the other is whether or not the Eagles get rid of Andy Reid soon.

So, the rumors are IMHO, are very true, but if the Eagles lose another game or two, it could be too late. Things are going to have to happen very quickly in order for this to happen.

I will resist mentioning any other candidates because people would think I am nuts. Two of them work in the Big 12, one probably obvious, the other not so much.

That's 100% all that I have been told from a VERY reliable source. He gives the Gruden deal a 35% chance, which is up from 25% a week ago:mj07:

The Missouri announcers sure questioned that too.

Skipper, I'm in no way questioning your involvement/knowledge of the UT program, but I'm under the impression that JG only has interest in two College destinations....Ohio State, which he missed his window with the Urban hire, and Possibly Oregon if Chip leaves. His interest in the Eagles is very, very big. The weapons they have...and he's very fond of Michael Vick, is a very possible destination in 2013.

I see this job being a spot for someone along the lines of Gary Patterson from TCU. He's had a ton of success, but things are starting to slide. He bails now and is the new guy in Knoxville.

Of course, pure conjecture, BUT

Of course, pure conjecture, BUT

I think gruden would be a great FIt atUSC as I think kiffin is done if they lose one more.

Why not take over Trojans and when the new NFL team ones he slides right over.

You would be wrong that he has no interest in Tennessee. His wife is from Bristol. He met her at UT, and has property here. The Oregon rumor comes from him having interest in the way Chip Kelly runs his offense and Ohio State has who they want. Whoever gave you that impression is probably mistaken.

If he comes to college, he will be here. People can speculate all they want. What I posted is exactly the information I received from a very reliable source. That is why Castillo and Bisaccia were mentioned, because that is how far this has come.

Gary Patterson is not, and will not be on the list of potential candidates. He is not one of the two Big 12 coaches on the list. The list includes NO ONE, that is an "up and comer." There is no interest in that route any more.

Stick dick Hamilton fucked up when he hired Kiffy. That was the opportunity to get Brian Kelly. To add salt to Vol fans wouinds, Kevin Sumlin was the next stop after Fooley, but they never made the trip.

People can speculate all they want, but always remember this:

"I guess I have to say it. I'm not going to be the Alabama coach." Nick Saban
