That's the battle cry in England."nobody bends it like Beckman".Of course referring to Beckmans shot and curve on the ball.
But this afternoon to escape the NY humidty,I took my kids to see the movie'Bend it like Beckman".
What a great movie.1st movie I've seen this summer and the summer is almost over.
It's a movie that got great reviews everywhere but was never released nationally.I think now its playing all over.
Go see it.
It's about an Indian girl in England who is talented and can play soccer. Her Sikh parents won't let her play.
It's about growing up,romance, clashing with religous tradition, soccer, assumptions like Bill Parcells, and a few more themes.
Somehow the director ties them in all together in a great flick. The Sikh wedding scene and another scene are tied together that have you laughing.
The Sikh father almost steals the movie. The Indian mother and aunts and sisters are hilarious. Not sure of her name but one of the stars has to be an English model. What a fox.
Great acting, great themes, and a movie teenagers and parents will like.
I've been promising my wife will go out to a movie. She worked a 12-hour shift today at the hospital.I have to come up with a lame excuse on why I took the kids to a movie today and haven't taken her.
Maybe I'll say we went to see SWAT but it was sold out.So we saw "Beckman".You know who he is "hon".That English soccer player who married one of the Spice girls.
Gotta run.If you get a chance go see the movie.Or rent it when it comes out.
2 Boxes up for" Bend it like Beckman"
