i agree in a way and disagree. he makes bad calls at bad times. i don't think he knows how to handle alot of stressful situations either. but on the other hand, he really motivates his players and always puts a great team on the field. i mean the cubs were banged up preety bad last year, but yet he still put on a great product.

they were banged up for sure, but he the only time as a player or coach I did not have stress was when i was on the field, that is why I am crancky smart ass here with people at times because no stress out let, the field was my stress out let and the stadium, would be there working 14 hour days and loved it, the off the field stuff brought stress, never making a call was ever stressful if i thought it was right i made it, He does get some players up but others are not into his type of management, his big problem to me and has always been is with pitchers, he does not make the call at the right time and lets his pitcher talk him out to many times of taking him out of game or he will wait 1-2 batters to long to make a move.

If you are going to give the hook when you walk out you give it, every pitcher is going to say I am ok, and a good catcher should give the sign to manager before he even goes out that says that is it. maybe not all his fault it is baseball in gen with pitchers only going 6 innings and pitch counts that have gone way to low, this started in late 80's more in the 90's and on with the set up man and man to get to set up man, bs you pitch and you close you don't worry and build a set 7th, 8th and 9th roation, that is the thing that has really become a big difference in pitching, trust me guys in the 70's and early 80's and in college right now can go 120-125 pitches or more and come back in 4 days and pitch on 5th but not any more because they have fell out of the mind set that a pitcher who trains right can get you a solid 7 or 8 unless you need to pinch hit, but now the get me 6 is the mind set and i think that has messed up pitching. Tell gibson or carrloton, jim palmer, burt blylevene(sp) ryan, jim bibby, mike scott, I could name a ton of guys in late 70's and early 80's who were 8 inning pitchers and before that all pitchers were guys who would throw 130 or more pitches and be fine on next start, the best thing for pitchers is to throw, throw and throw. They don't throw enough these days and that is why you have arm injuries not because of over use it is because their bodies are not trained to go that far anymore, out of college they are. scouts hate college coaches if you have one of their boys the drafted, they are always if pitcher is a prospect trying to butt in and tell the college coach how to handle their draft pick , alittle off subject towards end , gone from soas to pitching and then scouts who think they own a college pitcher well they don't till he is signed college coaches and scouts have it out many times over pitchers. I say and will always say throw throw and throw, nothing is better then throwing and streatching and running, screw the day off, you pick up a ball the next day and long toss to break up latic acid and build arm strength. then you get ice and ultra sound after you get in your running polls or your 12 min run.

But still say dusty has problems with pitchers and the right call, and the when to bunt and when not to, everyone wants the big inning a few bloops and a blast, no running game for many teams any more , you make action and put pressure on deff your hitting is not always going to drive in runs from 2nd but the fly to of with guy on 3rd will get him in, I was and am a pressure and small ball guy, home runs will take care of themself. The more pressure with running, run and hit, hit and run, run and bunt or bunt and run you don't see it much or if you do it is pedictable, key is be unpreditable and always have deff on their heals, now you see a guy on first and a team gives up a out for a sac, hell steal, run and bunt, never see that much it is a straight steal and batter bunts for a hit if he can handle the pitch if not he lets it go and runner does not flash back, and don't get me started on bunting.

well think i covered about every rant i have from top to bottom and catch damn ball with 2 hands not because it might fall out but so you are ready to throw when a guy is on first base or 2nd, i have seen to many guys tag from 1st because of lazy flashy of play.

Sammy and dusty don't click and that is sosas fault, not dusty so In this mini book I say he goes and dusty needs to stick to his guns on pitching and not out think or get talked out of a move.

Also the contracts have screwed up baseball hell a big tag player has a hang nail he sits now.

I think i have covered my rant and what i think is wrong with many baseball players in the pros these days. and on the juice you can do all you want but it won't let or help you hit the ball, you still have to hit the ball on the sweet part of the lumber. it will give you extra power 15 to 20 feet but will never and never will give you a good eye and a good swing, and with a wood bat I don't care how much power because baseball is power not strength you have if you don't hit it on the sweet part of the bat you will not get the hits, there will never be a juice for that. so has it helped out some in power number yes but if they could not hit and have the hitters eye it would not and never will get you a higher avg or rasie your hit total.

Now I am done:D and not proff reading or fixing spelling mistakes:D:D
