Iowa -21 over North Texas ******
NT is coming off a huge loss to Smoo...despite leading 10-0 after the 3rd series it wasn't a competitive game.Sutton had 4 td's and NT defense couldn't stop him...it was 54-17 when Smoo called off the dogs..NT scored a few late Td's to make it look closer but Smoo still won by 22..Fine the NT qb had over 400 yds and the week before vs Lamar had over 400..so he is ranked 5th in the nation in passing...NT has one weapon..Wilson the rb..well like I predicted Smoo put 8 guys in the box and held NT's only offensive player to 36 yds on 17 carries...and Iowa will do the same....

Iowa beat Wyoming and Iowa St in ot...2 years ago Iowa beat North Texas 62-16..think it will be the same..
Iowa has such a huge advantage on the OL...the OL 6'2,6'3,6'6 and 6'8 and all 285,287,and 295....they have an explosive Rb in Wadley who had 1,000 yds lyr and one of the top 3 backs in the conf.....their Qb is Stanley and is pretty solid..He is a big kid at 6'5..The OL returns almost everyone and is listed as one of the top in the country..Wr's are good and should have a big day vs the weak NT secondary....also a TE that has caught 2 td's already..in Fant...defense has 8 guys back from last yr...in 3 of their last 3 B-10 games they beat Michigan 14-13,shut out Illi 28-0 and beat Neb 40-10...they did lose to Florida in their bowl game...this is a veteran team with 15 starters back..their defense did hold Wyoming to 3 points in their 1st game..

NT has no OL...Smoo sacked,hurried up,knocked down Fine all day...with Wilson their main weapon stopped NT was in trouble...Iowa has a much better defense then Smoo.. NT benched their center... NT DL is undersized and out manned...LB's had a tough time and secondary just got burned all day by the Mustangs...
Wadley is tough to stop and Iowa has a run game..Wadley has 234 yds in 2 games..
NT has no business playing this road game..but wait a minute..NT gets $900,000 for this game..."so take the money and run"..opps I forgot NT can't run...blowout game ...Iowa wins this by 4 td's or more....
Army got 1.2 million to play Ohio St this week...
Only thing I'm worried about is this could be a "trap" game..Iowa has Penn St home the following week...hopefully they stay focused for 3 quarters before the subs come in...and Iowa should be up 55-7....

Thanks Hawkeye....Iowa beat Iowa st in OT last week.. so that could be somewhat draining..Iowa at home the pass few yrs are 2-3,2-4,2-5 ats at home..but they did beat Wyoming and held them to 3 points...and the Cowboys have a real good qb..the look ahead scares me the most....but NT vs FBS teams is something like 5-28...a few years ago I went to the Cotton Bowl and watched North Texas beat UNLV....they are 8-27 since that game...when North Texas schedules these big payday games all away over the years for big $ they get beat...its payday...and over the past years they get their butts whipped...Last yr they played great but Florida won 32-0,the year before was Iowa 62-16,Texas the following yr 38-7,Georgia 45-21 and LSU the year before 41-14....the -21 would of covered in all those i think and in every one of those games everyone subbed in the 4th qrt...Fine their qb who is 5th in the nation in passing is 5'9...he has a lot of trouble seeing over big DLines...and those stats are "fake news"...he got most of those passing yds vs Smoo last week down by 40..and had almost 500 vs Lamar..the week before...but like you alluded too Hawk,looking ahead is the only thing that scares me..last yr before Penn St they lost and got blown away at Penn St 41-14..then won 3 straight....think Frentz the coach would love to be 3-0 ..
Another stat when Iowa beat North Texas 2 yrs ago by 46 points they only had one more 1st down...Iowa did not need 1st downs...and NT turns the ball over..already the NT punt returner has been benched muffing 2 returns in 2 games..he is being replaced by a freshman...good luck with your over-unders..

Think Iowa wins big..many sacred off with Iowa OT tough win vs rival Iowa St last week and next week look-ahead vs Penn St...but I'm not buying in...Iowa has big advantage everywhere..NT has some holes everywhere...strong play...

USC -15.5 over Texas ***
Texas rebounded vs San Jose but that wasn't a good test..Texas will see the best offense they seen so far...USC with their Qb who has played a little erratic should have a huge day vs the defenseTexas USC has 2 top rb;s so 'play action" could be their weapon all day...USC lost top defender today but think they win by 3 or more td's...Tex qb Buechele might not play...frosh Ehl will start..think Jones and Johnson in the USC backfield and Darnold will give the Texas D problems all day..

UCLA -3 over Memphis **
I know Memphis is really good but Rosen is big time... if UCLA OL gives him time think the Bruins win big..

Cent Mich +9.5 over Cuse **
Cuse wins but its a close game..

VT -23 over ECU ****
ECU defense is non-existent. VT beat WW and WV just destroyed ECU..JMU also destroyed ECU ..Pirate Def Coord was fired this week...its a rival game in the eyes ECU but VT has that qb Jackson and he is amazing if you haven't seen him..its going to be a long day in Greenville today..

Tex AM -23.5 over UL Laf **
Sumlin in trouble...think he has his Aggies coming out big..vs an inferior team..

Tenn +4 over Florida **
Think a lot of Gators are still suspended..you don't get many chances to beat florida..



Ohio St -31 over Army **
Army was lucky to pull out a win vs buffalo last week...the one angle I like is Bucks def coordinator is Schiano the Rutgers ex coach who faced triple options 12 times and stuffed them..a few ago Rutgers beat Army who were leading the nation in rushing avg 500 yds on the ground...Schiano won 28-7...so with those Ohio St "greyhounds" on defense think they stop the black nites...Ohio St defense have given up over 800 yds passing..Army has 17 total yds passing in 2 games..and after OU whipping think OSU keeps the pedal on a little bit longer...

Utah -26 over San Jose **
Think this is a blowout...

Lehigh -13 over Yale ***
Lehigh 0-2 losing to nova and Monmouth...but last yr they started out 0-2 and won 9 straight. And beat Yale 63-35...Lehigh qb Mayes threw for 524 yds and 6 td's in that win and he is back today...Lehigh wins by +3 td's..

Georgetown -10 over Marist *
Last yr Hoyas won 20-17..but the yrs before won 34-7 and 27-7..Hoyas at home should cover.. have to bet against my Red Foxes even if football..I'm 12-2 ats with Marist...but...that's hoops..hopefully the string continues..lol

Good luck with your big play on the Hawkeyes today, box.
Leaving for the tailgate soon. It's gonna be a hot one in Iowa city today so iowa's depth should help them control this game.
Team is saying all the right things about not looking ahead to the start of the big ten season next week against Penn State under the lights but that's why they play the games. :toast:

thanks redsfann......stay in the shade today....hate week after week going against my North Texas...then against Army a lot..then in hoops against Marist...thank god I don't bet the NBA because I am a Knick fan...then I am a die hard Phillie fan....and of course I bleed Giant blue......none of my teams win...I live in Austin for the winter..leaving in a month...Austin gets the Spurs games...wanted to switch teams from the Knicks to Spurs...is that allowed....I am in college at North Texas when Knicks won their last NBA title...1973...not sure of the "statue of limitations" rule in sports..can you switch your teams after 45 years... have fun today... go Hawkeyes.
