Love Ohio -4.5 over North Texas ...
I had this line at -8 or -9..I got it at -4.5 yesterday and jumped on it..it will go up to -6 or -7...Ohio coming off a "beat down" from louie and North Texas coming from a blowout over Idaho... NT is improved and will be better but Idaho is not a litmus test game...same with Ohio...getting Bridgewarted{ I like that} by Louie doesn't mean much except for injuries...Ohio didn't show anyone anything after being down 21-0...think they come out smoking at home and NT heads have to be so swollen in 1st win in 9 yrs on opening day..gaining over 700 yds,etc...will post game later..
Ohio played so conservative esp. after they were down 21-0..they didn't show North Texas anything...its a wake up call for the Bobcats..thought they might be looking ahead for Marshall but.... after getting a beat down you throw the tape away and get ready for the Mean Green...Mean Green is not looking ahead to Georgia the following week...will break down the game and a few others later in the week...

Ohio -4 over North Texas *****
Tough to get 8 pages of notes into a few paragraphs...Was hoping last week NT just gets by Idaho by a few td's not a 40-6 blowout and Ohio doesn't get "Brigewatered" and loses by a few Td's, not a 49-7 blowout...so now you have two teams meeting both coming from big time beatings..North Texas played a weak team in Idaho and Ohio ran into a " brick wall"...vs Louie
NT's Qb Thompson won the starting job the monday before the Idaho game..always inconsistent but has big numbers career wise..he threw for 349 yds and 2 td's...NT will do better this year returning 17-18 starters...but playing the Vandals vs the Bobcats is a different story..esp on the road..
After Ohio was down 21-0 they didn't show any offense but running up the middle..ohio has a good qb in Tettleton...he is 87 yds short of 6,000...he has a good rb in Blankinship{ Ohio battle cry.." hey diddle,diddle blankenship up the middle} who looks like a bowling ball...he has 9 games over 100 yds..Foster is a big time wr..and Bass on kick offs..OMG..did any of you see him the other nite.he will score a return TD tomorrow. talk about dangerous...
Ohio offense will score vs NT defense...NT def line is small and sometimes inserts a 5'9 230 DE...coach says with the way the game is today we need speed..Ohio lost 2 players this week on the OL to injury...but they are ..drum roll please..6'3,6'3,6'5,6'6 and 6'6 weighing in at 282,311,332,298,and 303...going to stop...

NT hasn't won back to back games since Nov of 2004...NT has one playmaker in wr Chancellor...stop him and make NT run the ball...Ohio defense is still healing wounds from the 49-7 beat down...NT heads are so big Southwest Airlines up graded their plane from a Boing 707 to a 757...Tettleton and co win by a few td's...NT has Georgia next week....Ohio has Marshall...but Bass will score some how and the OL should open up some huge holes for "hey diddle-diddle"...the line dropped to -4....it should be -9 or -10....Ohio 37-21...Ohio dominates at home outscoring everyone by 37.pts..past 2 yrs...

Houston -3 over Temple ***
Coogs with Piland can throw. They return almost their whole offense except for Sims..they played Southern and scored 60 pts...Temple lost to ND 28-6..Temple D played pretty well but they haven't seen a Coog passing attack..Coog defense is a big question mark but Temple offense is avg...this game needs to be played in Nov in 20 degrees weather in Philly.".not sunny in philly" in the mid 70's...

Oregon -22.5 over Virginia ****
Ducks,Mariota,Heisman,Thomas,etc. Cavs celebrating 3 pt win over BYU...and BYU has no offense...1st half might be close and then ducks pour it on..

UTEP -6 over New Mexico ***
Ark St +10.5 over Auburn ***

Ball St -8 over Army ****

Army came out throwing vs Morgan St last week.. new qb Santiago threw for 100 and ran for 100...before we declare him the savior lets look at who he played..Morgan St was terrible..and actually in the 2nd half dominated..They shot themselves in the foot 10 times on penalties..Army got none..After the 1st qrt Morgan st took away the 3rd army option...pitch play..so Santiago had to keep it..Maples there best rb touched the ball 5 times..Santiago never pitched to him because he was getting a big head. had no otside run game....Dixon did get 100 yds..the army front 7 defense is bad..under sized and still cannot tackle...that is Armys problem..their offense should score with Dixon and Maples..Sant did go 4-8 in passing and more importantly they had no turnovers or penalties..big improvement..Santiago is very careful about the pitch..trouble is to conservative..Army run defense,pass def and secondary was just of vs Morgan..Morgan moved the ball on them..they just screwed up so many times on penalties...
Ball St has Wenning a good Qb...he has 7,600 passing yds..in last 2 years vs army 30-22 and 48-21 wins he has 5 td's and 513 yds..he is 6'3 and can throw it..Edwards is the rb and has 1,400 yds..Army will have a tough time tackling him..and the cards have two 5'8 and 5'11 wrs Smith and Snead...who can catch and run..talk about speed..This is a terrible match up for Armys secondary...an example of that is one of Armys best LB's was moved to safety..best tackler..but he has LB speed...he'll come up and hit Edwards but any kind of play action he is in trouble esp. with Armys cb's trying to stay with Smith and Snead..last time Army was at Ball St they was down 31-0 at the half.. won 48-21..last yr at Army they won 30-22...ball has a lot of returning players,a good passing and running game..Army def couldn't put pressure on the Morgan St Ol..and these guys had about 6 or 7 illegal procedures..Army defense got more yds on penalties then their defense did{ almost}..
This game should be near the same score of 2 yrs ago..to me the key of is..Ball St should score and Army has to play catchup..and running option when your behind is tough...the line went down to -7.5.. I got it at -8 which is a gift..Ball st wins this by 3 or more td's..
