On the course!
I recently opened an account with Olympic, and have been quite pleased with them.

I know nothing about horses, but I like to place a few dollars here and there.

I know that Gulfstream has live video of their races, so I figured I'd bet a couple bucks there.

The first race was a few minutes from post, so I did my "handicapping".

I look at the best three odds horses in the morning line, and take the 4th horse to w/p/s/ ($2$2$6) A simple $10 wager to keep me interested.

Well, the horse that fit that bill was number 4, and lo and behold, he wins!

Nice little start!

Well, I check the second race, and the 1 horse is my guy. (Actually, there were two favorites, and a bunch of 6/1 and 8/1, so I picked the one with the best name!) I go to check the tote, and he keeps climbing from 7/1 to 20/1

I enter my 2/2/6 wager, but it does not confirm. The little globe keeps spinning, and no confirmation page. Well, I have plenty of time before the race, so I refresh the page. Nothing. I close out the site, and re-enter. Nothing. It just won't log on.

So, now I am thinking, I am saving $10, as my horse is 2nd worse odds.

Race goes off, and I watch him run the field down, and win. I wanted to puke!

I didn't win over $70 because the site I use wouldn't load!

Man! Of course, it loads just fine when I place a losing basketball wager!:D

Sad but true! My longshot came in, and I was 'shut out", at the cyber window!

Insult to injury:

I placed the first race wagers AFTER Olympics cut off deadline!

I knew you had to bet a few minutes before post, but they mean the PRINTED post time, and not the actual one.

I have learned more than I want to, today.

Have to stones nuts winners, and don't get paid!

How many trips to the track have had no winners for you?

I will end my track wagering for the day, as a loss would only piss me off.

I hear ya bro...I too am starting to get into the ponies and also have an account with Oly....last Friday I was coattailing and slammed in a $2 exacta..no problem entering the wager. I check the racing forum later and see I won and the exacta paid $110 per $1...I'm elated. Kept waiting for Oly to update my account and after 30 min they turned my wager to a push....you must place your bets 2min before post time...I went back and looked and I missed it by 54 seconds!!! I have since opened a account that caters only to horses...don't want that to happen again.

You're better off. Oly only pays 100-1 max on exotics. Go somewhere that pays track odds, if you ant to play for some real coin.

Some tracks are making earlier and earlier deadlines to cut off wagering. This is to alleviate some of the changing odds you see during the race, which definitely gives the impression something is going on; which may or may not be the case. Getting shut out on a winner sucks.

I use www.caribsports.com best max track odds on exacta trifectas and pick 3 on the internet.. Great service and a 3 percent rebate on all horse wagers, rebated back every thursday. How can you beat someone paying you to bet the horses. 3 percent doesnt sound like much but it adds up. Another reason I use them is they will pay you through western union if you so desire that means cash in hand at pick up. No check to worry about cashing and claiming on your taxes. OOOOps I shouldnt have said that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
