Blazer,
Regarding my reply about "true Southerners" in Taoist's thread ...
I apologize if I made you feel my reply was harsh and rude, but in my defense...
Each and every one of those comments were taken from a book titled, "The Southerner's Book of Lists".
The book was written by Jim Erskine, a native Southerner who hails from Gretna, Louisiana.
In addition, with me being a Yankee and Taoist not quite as fortunate, the both of us have poked fun at each other in the past over this same topic. We shared a laugh and were both better because of it.
Lastly, some years ago, a friend of mine from Columbus, Georgia sent me a book titled, "The Seven Signs Of Southerness".
This is an excerpt...
"Every house my mother has ever lived in has had more beds in it than there were people actually living in the house...Those beds were filled with...cousins, friends, and kin staying with us while they looked for work or got through a rough patch in life."
