CB Antoine Winfield returned to practice Friday, as expected, after missing Thursday?s practice for personal reasons, according to head coach Leslie Frazier.

Winfield was back working with the starting defense, which also featured Chris Cook and Josh Robinson taking first-team reps in the nickel defense during the portion of practice open to the media. Brandon Burton is also being considered for duty in the nickel defense.

?The thinking is one of them (Robinson or Burton) may actually be the third guy or we may rotate them,? Frazier said.

Harrison Smith and Mistral Raymond will be the starting safeties.

The Vikings worked out four players after Friday?s practice. Three of them are known: offensive linemen Stanley Daniels and Tony Hills, according to 1500 ESPN, and defensive lineman Brian Price, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Offensive lineman Mark Asper (waivers) and CB A.J. Jefferson (trade), both acquired late last week, ?would be tough? to play on Sunday because of their learning curve in the Vikings? system, Frazier said.

Tight end John Carlson, who missed the entire preseason with a knee injury, isn?t expected to be affected by the injury.

?He had a good week this week with no restrictions, so we don?t see him as a guy who would have to play with any inhibitions,? Frazier said. ?We think we can just let him go and call the offense the way we would if he would

Play by play voice of the Vikes, Paul Allen says he talks to Ponder on a routine basis and gets the feeling that Peterson is going to play. i know Frazier is talking about a "limited roll." What does that mean" Instead of 25 carries he gets 15. Watch for the Vikes to win this game in the trenches, their defensive front should over power the Jags

Has Harvin gotten over the problem with migraines? I think he can have a decent year but, I stayed away from him in the fantasy league because you are never sure until gametime if he can go or not.

he actually played w/those sob's and had a good year last season..

he is the threat on that team ..

especially until this AP injury situation takes some shape either good or bad..depending on weather ya have him or not..

could certainly turn out worthless for the whole season..

ain't no walk in the park coming back from these rip jobs.
