Yeah, :violin;, had some kinda day yesterday. Seventy dollar plus exactas with the "PLUS" adjective too. :) Don't remember which race it was, but my bestest bet for the day was a no. 7 hoss that paid $28. Too bad my ticket price at this risky twack were $0.50 (really), $1, and $2 one ones I REALLY liked, SHEEET!

NOT having such LUCK today though; my no. 2 best bet, Jersey Jet, looked like a winnah in deep stretch but couldn't hold off the closers AND I play that one like I betem at Philly too... wheel the bastage top/bot in zacks. Oh well.

Now here's the reason I wrote this post... you like playing Bredders Cup clones? Cause the prices are phenominal? Well, how bout those "phenominal" prices (straight, zacks, tries) in race that are between Semi - clones? I couldn't believe the payouts on races that finished with logical plicks that paid close to 3 figures in the exactas.
Win payouts are better than Philly style too. Favorites going off at 4,5 to 1 or better. Problem, like the B.C. races. PLENTY of casual fans at this track.. er, NO experts, DT LOL. That expains why the bonanza payoffs are not what they shoulds AND... explains why the logical (to a Race Twack Jack) ARE better than reasonble.

No 50 cent jobbies today.. $2 and $5 plays today. So far lost 2 playables and one was reasonably sized bets (that dang no. 2 hoss)...

Hoping Lady Luck helps me out today (yesterday was really something else), so here's what I got picked for the rest of today.....

5th 5,11 (yeah, this one is getting bet pretty heavily right now) top/bot 4,8.. Ut, I see no. 4 got sqwatched. ... I'll substitute a "L@@Ker" in a few minute. Will post it if I see some interest here.

Dinn't got over 6th race and that one may be a "NO PLAY".

Side order..

Side order..

Nos. 6 and 7 to win.. not one horse loaded yet

EDITED : might as well post the reults here... ANOTHER 1st and 3rd finish SOMB! 5-9-6
2/1 favorite on top of a 6/1 in an 8 horse field pays $51. Just one exacta can make your day here.. BUT, thems usually finish the races just like the college basketballers did.

Check out the prices on this one

Sorry, didn't get to post the side orders.. nos. 2 and 6 to win. NICE payout on "carMOUCH's" hoss. He is really one excellent rider; anybody else (at this track, that is) wouldn't have pulled this race out.

Think I'll continue dabbling with this track, starting to like it even though my results (only one small scratch on the bankaroo) are starting to look like what I expected from this place. Bankaroo is still sitting pretty good after yesterday. Track has good potential - betting "against" the fans that play this track. I think LUCK plays a bigger roll at this place, much more here than at Philly, but the payoffs are even better than Philly.

G.L. MJers.

I think the "better" payoffs are largely a function of a couple of factors:

(i) FIELD SIZE......last year AC averaged 10.08 starters/race. Parx was 7.73.
(ii) TAKEOUT......WPS at 17% at both places, EX 19% at AC, 20% at Parx, but Parx takes an exorbitant 30% off the top of each TRI wager compared to 25% at AC.

That is borderline criminal.....30% !!

Thanks for the info

Thanks for the info

Yes, I understand what you are stating and that does means the pot (betting pool) that zotic winning betters go to draw from gets lessened on account of the greedy (Philly) house. I think it is much more important to just check out the AVERAGE EXACTA and TRIFECTA Payouts for each track. It's kinda related to the consistancy of the horses running at each track and the sophisticaton of the bettors who play each track. That is what I focus on.

Just as an example... if you are familiar with investing in mutual funds, each one charges their operation fees. It's the charge they impose on each investor for "running the show". These fees can go from a small fraction of a percent to 2% or even more. It works just like the racetrack take. There are funds that charge way over 1% and that's right out of each investors pocket. The point is that there are MANY funds that "pull" very high fees, liken that to Philly. BUT, many of these funds have a much higher return cause they just make better investment choices and we'd be better off investing with them despite their high fees (deducted from the "pot").

Philly:

PARX RACING AT A GLANCE

Avg. Winning Odds: 4.88 - 1
Favorite Win%: 37%, Favorite Itm%: 73%

EXOTICS PAYOFF
Exacta 67.33
Daily Double 71.03
Trifecta 411.14
Pick 3 576.83
Superfecta 3,745.15
Pick 6 13,573.51
Pick 4 2,171.78

You prob. know about the place where I get these stats. but, if not it's ...
http://www.brisnet.com/cgi-bin/editorial/full_edition.cgi

Click on "At a Glance" on the left hand column. Now, Philly stacks up similar to many other tracks asfaras attractive payouts go... BUT, I'd like to see the AVERAGE FIELD SIZES in these reports. I feel pretty confident that Philly has much smaller field sizes and still has very competitive payout for all wager types.

Again, thanks for the info. Sharky.
