I will have alot to say about this game in the next few days but here is what I have decided for this games outcome.

Alabama only played really 3 tough games during the course of this season.

They easily could have lost the LSU game if it were not for devine intervention at the end by the Alabama QB. No way they should have won that game.

Then Alabama loses, at home to Texas A&M who played the game of their lives and deserved to win.
Alabama don't lose games at home like that.
Alabama is vulnerable.

Then the Georgia game and if not for a freak ball tip at the end of the game and failure to spike Georgia could have won that game.

Alabama made mistakes in the Georgia game that they usually don't make. Even coaching errors.
Alabama is ripe in this game.

Alabama aint running for 500 yds on Notre Dame
And Notre Dame is going to sit on Alabama passing game and then play smash mouth 3 and out. Keep the fawking ball from the Tide by grinding it out on offense.

The moneyline is low at + 295 for a point spread this large. Why is that ? Maybe Vegas knows something we don't.

Notre Dame has won so many close games this year and somehow some way they have persevered to be the #1 team in the country. They are much more battle tested than the Alabama team for this game.

The pressure is really on Saban. If he dont win then he don't get a prime NFL job next year. I wonder what the players think about that. Losing their Head Coach should they win this game. hmmmm

I sense a moodiness in the Alabama locker room.
Feelings of being unsure when the game is on the line for the National Championship is not good.

All Notre Dame coachs win National Championships in their third years.

I smell money and it smells green !

Notre Dame with a decisive hold on the top spot, which it cemented a week later with a 22-13 victory over Southern California.

The Irish won that game the same way they have all season -- their smothering defense giving their grind-it-out offense enough opportunities to win.

"Well, that's who we are," said Kelly, whose team won six times by nine or fewer points. "It's been our defense all year. Our offense is able to manage enough points."

That was certainly the case in Notre Dame's biggest scare of the year, a 29-26 triple-overtime victory over Pittsburgh on Nov. 3 in which the Irish trailed 20-6 going into the fourth quarter. Notre Dame held the Panthers scoreless in the final period and Everett Golson threw a pair of touchdown passes before running for the winning score in OT.

Heisman Trophy runner-up Manti Te'o is perhaps most responsible for that winning formula. The senior linebacker had seven interceptions and 103 tackles, and proved to be the heart and emotional leader of the Irish.

"We're going to fight," Te'o said after the USC win. "That's our name. It doesn't matter where we are."

Te'o won the Maxwell Award as the nation's most outstanding player, became the third defensive player to win the Walter Camp Award as player of the year and also took home the Bednarik Award as top defensive player and the Butkus Award as top linebacker.

Te'o will have plenty of help on a defense loaded with other playmakers. Stephon Tuitt had 12 sacks and 13 tackles for loss, Prince Shembo added 7 1/2 sacks and 10 1/2 tackles for loss and Kapron Lewis-Moore contributed six sacks and 8 1/2 tackles for loss.

Notre Dame led the country with 10.3 points allowed per game and was sixth with 288.1 yards. With the 303-pound Tuitt and 326-pound nose tackle Louis Nix, the Irish may be one of the few teams with the size up front necessary to handle a powerful Alabama offensive line anchored by All-American center Barrett Jones.

Can you elaborate on all ND coaches win NC in their 3rd years and for the record Saban is going nowhere.

not much to elaborate on.

The truth will set you free.

" One tradition that he certainly hopes continues is the championship aura that surrounds Irish coaches in their third season. Parseghian, Leahy, Holtz and Dan Devine won titles in Year 3. "

and for the record Saban is going nowhere.

FORT LAUDERDALE ? Alabama coach Nick Saban arrived with his SEC championship team Wednesday afternoon to prepare for Monday?s BCS national championship game against top-ranked Notre Dame in Miami amid a swirl of speculation that he may leave for the NFL at season?s end.

Saban has vehemently denied the rumors that he may land with the Cleveland Browns. That talk has been out there for a month and won?t go away, with the Browns having fired Pat Shurmur on Monday. This is one distraction Saban doesn?t need as he attempts to win his fourth national championship, and his third at Alabama in four seasons.

But, given Saban?s history in Miami, it is hard for the locals to believe anything he says.

Saban may be a conquering hero in Tuscaloosa, where he has become the reincarnation of the legendary Bear Bryant. But he is still considered a liar and a fraud by many in this area for the shameful way he handled himself during his brief and unimpressive two-year stay with the Miami Dolphins.:scared

In 2006, Saban coached the Dolphins, who were considered a playoff contender before the season, to a disappointing 6-10 record, the franchise?s first losing season in a decade. On Nov. 27 of that year, Alabama announced that coach Mike Shula had been dismissed. Saban was reported to be at the top of the Crimson Tide?s wish list, but he refused to discuss the issue while the NFL season was still going on.

That December, the media repeatedly grilled Saban about the Alabama job, and he treated the media as if he was on a recruiting visit, telling them whatever he thought they wanted to hear. He stated emphatically on Dec. 21, ?I guess I have to say it. I?m not going to be the Alabama coach.? Two weeks later, immediately after the Dolphins? season-ending loss to Indianapolis, Saban was gone.:0074

The quickie divorce earned him villain status and widespread backlash, particularly from former Dolphins tight end and radio broadcaster Jim Mandich, who publicly expressed a desire to fight Saban on the NFL Network program ?NFL Top 10.? Still-outraged Dolphins fans will be the first to jump on the Notre Dame bandwagon for Monday night?s game.:0074

TFresh

just trust in Saban . Miami did

Reminds me of Patrino and how he left Atlanta

He left the players a note in their lockers wishing them good luck.

Freshman, Jr, Sophmore Alabama players - Win and Coach Saban leaves us. Lose and he hangs on at 61 for another 4 yrs. Why did most of them come to Alabama ?

That's pretty funny

not sure what part you refer to as funny.

If its about Saban I would have to say this.

Its a angle that maybe not alot of gamblers think about in a game like this.

Look at the stats until your eyes bleed. Look at the matchups each team has had this year and what happened. Look at the past and how the teams have performed. Look at the crowd and weather and
..................

well you get my drift.

Some ppl fail to see things that affect emotion and motivation in a game.

And as I have said many times in the past. If you can put your finger on emotion and motivation
then you can win.

FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- No. 1 Notre Dame allows 10.3 points per game, best in the nation. No. 2 Alabama allows 10.7. So the BCS championship should be a defensive struggle, right? First to 12 wins. Well, maybe. Those offenses are pretty good, too. Here are the major battles to watch:

Alabama center Barrett Jones vs. Notre Dame nose guard Louis Nix III.

Jones is a two-time All-America who will be starting his third national championship game. Nix is a 326-pound run stuffer, a magnet for double teams and a big reason the Fighting Irish have allowed only two rushing touchdowns. When Pittsburgh ran the ball well in the first half against Notre Dame, Nix was on the sideline with the flu. In the second half when Nix came in, Pitt's running game was not nearly as effective. How much help Jones needs with Nix will go a long way toward determining whether the Irish can hold up against an Alabama running game that averages 5.6 yards per carry.

Notre Dame tight end Tyler Eifert vs. Alabama cornerbacks Dee Milliner and Deion Belue.

Eifert is an All-America and the leading receiver for the Fighting Irish with 44 catches for 624 yards. He is the type of tight end that is all the rage in the NFL right now. Huge (6-feet-6, 250 pounds) but with the speed and agility to get down the field and make big plays. Alabama's safeties, specifically Robert Lester, are better equipped size-wise to match up with Eifert, but Notre Dame loves to get its big target matched up against a cornerback and have him outmuscle the smaller player.

Alabama running backs Eddie Lacy and T.J. Yeldon vs. Notre Dame inside linebackers Manti Te'o and Dan Fox.

It's not just about stopping the run. Te'o, Fox and that Notre Dame front seven have been so good in run defense, allowing 3.2 yards per carry, it has allowed defensive coordinator Bob Diaco to play his safeties deep to protect inexperienced cornerbacks. If the linebackers need help containing Alabama's two 1,000-yard rushers, that leaves cornerbacks KeiVarae Russell and Bennett Jackson exposed.

Notre Dame left tackle Zack Martin and left guard Chris Watt vs. Alabama defensive ends Damion Square and Quinton Dial and strong-side linebacker Adrian Hubbard.

The Fighting Irish like to run left. A lot. Irish coaches make no secret that Martin has been their best lineman. That should keep Square, a solid 286-pound senior, busy. Of course one of the keys to Alabama's defensive success is its depth. Martin and Watt won't get any breaks.

Notre Dame quarterback Everett Golson vs. Alabama coach Nick Saban and defensive coordinator Kirby Smart.

Golson will be making his 11th career start. He has come a long way this season.
Saban and Smart are masters of mixing coverage and pressures and making quarterbacks generally miserable as they try to figure out what's coming.
This will not keep Golson from playing the game of his life and winning the National Championship for old Notre Dame. Fuck Saban and the Cleveland Browns

The moneyline is low at + 295 for a point spread this large. Why is that ? Maybe Vegas knows something we don't.

!

Notredame is ranked #1 in the nation, and currently unbeaten

Alabama is ranked below them, has more losses, and as you said, is vulnerable right now...

but they are still favored by 10 points?

so couldn't the same argument be made this way? that maybe vegas knows something to make a lower ranked, worse record, more vulnerable team, a ten point favorite?

just thinking outloud as I hate seeing you opposite KOD

as far as reducing risk, I am very surprised you didn't take the points as basically a gift to reduce your risk....
