Between Green Bay and Iowa City
NFL YTD: 15-28 (-17.65*)

I sure don?t ever remember any such thing as earlier in the week when Olympic had 8 of the 13 Sunday games at something other than -110. What?s up with that? And to make things more interesting, the lines on all 13 of those games were within ? point of 3 or 7 the last time I checked.

The Master of the Obvious is looking for his angles:

San Diego(-7)(-120) for 1.5*
The mistake prone and soft Jets blow the biggest lead (21-3) of any NFL team this season. Now it?s off to the west coast to face the most complete team they have seen that went surging into its bye at 6-1 off an overtime TD. How is this game likely to play out? I?ll bet on a fundamental mismatch and some energized Marty ball.

Philadelphia(-6?) for 1.5*
The gulf between these teams is just as great in intangibles as it is in personnel matchups on the field. And McNabb is returning home, again. While the situational aspects don?t seem as favorable as Jets vs. San Diego, for me no SU win this year would pack the surprise of the Bears taking it to the Eagles (Baltimore over Denver? Detroit over New Orleans? Houston over Dallas? Giants over St. Louis? Jets over San Diego?). Yep, a supersized surprise. I think the Eagles handle this spot going away.

Pittsburgh(-3) for 1.5*
Cleveland hasn?t come close to correcting its problems like Pittsburgh has. Pittsburgh looks ready for a 60 minute test if Cleveland lives up to its end.

That?s a start, but it?s early. The dogs have been barking, but if this looks like a week for a few favorites, I?m not going to try and force something else.

Adding:

Detroit(-3) for 1*
Dallas spent emotional capital securing Emmit?s rushing record last week, and having attained that moment, the sting of that loss was likely less pervasive than is the customary prescription for a strong bounceback. The Lions under Harrington are not playing like a discombobulated bunch hiding a coward; now they get their first test at Ford Field when something is expected of them.

Tease: Indianapolis(+3 and Over 39?) for 1*
I think Indy plays hard enough and smart enough to get the win they have to have, and that offenses that can score dictate to defenses that struggle to keep up.
