Now I remember why I quit watching the NBA...

Wow. These two teams are just awful. Nobody can make a free throw, missing wide open jumpers, walking the ball up the court on EVERY possession. You can't tell me with a straight face that this is entertaining. And how do you market the NBA when two of your stars, LeBron and Wade, can't even make free throws? I realize not every game is like this, but this is what I think of when I think of Eastern Conference basketball. People say it's better defense? Nah, it's ineptitude and poor fundamentals.

I can honestly say the high school game I saw about a week ago was more entertaining than this garbage. And I didn't have to pay an arm and a leg for the ticket! :mj07:

Right after I type that Wade misses 2 more FTs. :mj07: Can this sport please go the way of the USFL?

Sorry, I can't keep up with all the bricks. LeBron just missed 2 FTs too. :SIB

Betting unders makes it better. Love NBA unders.

You know what's funny? I saw the total of 194 and my eyeballs just about fell out of my head. I don't follow the NBA regularly so maybe that's not as crazy as I think it is, but it seemed very high to me. I would expect these two teams to play 180-185. I didn't bet the under though cuz I suck at the NBA.

On a side note, I checked the 2h line at my book as soon as the half ended and saw one of the biggest jumps I've ever seen. The line opened at Miami +5. When I refreshed a few seconds later it was down to +3'. Wow. I'm guessing there's some money on Miami 2h. :142smilie

Try betting NBA totals for a week or so...just make those bets and see how you do. Bet small to start out and see how it goes, I used to think the same thing as you because I could never bet dogs...and still have a hard time betting big dogs so I laid off the spreads and started with totals and like it so far. I would give it a shot if I was you.

Honestly, I think all my hair would fall out if I did that. I don't think I could ever bet an over in this sport because the players are just so bad. Nobody can make an open jumpshot or free throw anymore. Then again, if I go by that logic and bet unders, I'm sure those games would turn into fast-break shootouts where neither team cares about playing D. I don't know, this sport just seems like too much of a crapshoot to me. I'd much rather stick to college.

I will have to check out your college picks...I assume your mean college BB? I am horrible with college BB and FB...I stick to the pro sports. College football has ruined me this year because I don't like to bet dogs...gotta change that thinking.

Yeah, I meant college BB but I also do a lot better in college FB than the NFL. The pro sports aren't my strong point for sure. And to be honest, I haven't posted many picks at all this year. I've been busier than usual and I like to do write-ups rather than just give a pick when I post, so I haven't really had the time. I do like some of the bowl games coming up though so I may post a few picks.

GL with your plays...

Another road team falls apart in the 2h. A week or two ago I posted that it's staggering how many road teams play pretty well in the 1h, then just completely give it away in the 2h. I don't know if it's fatigue, intensity, not caring... whatever it is, it's a trend that I think is worth following. You very rarely see a road team go out and play well for 4 quarters. So as simplified as it may sound, if they play well in the first 2 quarters I have to take a look at going against them in the final 2 quarters.

I feel sorry for anyone who took Miami today. Losing a bet is bad enough, but to see a team simply not care about losing sucks. You're down double digits with about 4:00 to go, and you're walking the ball up the court, not running an offense, just dribbling at the top of the key for about 15 seconds. Come to think of it, that sounds like pretty much every team in the NBA. It doesn't surprise me that the players don't care, but where is the coach in all this?

Wow. Looks like the Suns game will stay under too. That's the scary thing about betting overs that high. If you have one low scoring quarter like that first quarter in the Suns game (and it wasn't really that low scoring), you're pretty much sunk. They have to score 171 over the next 3 quarters to go over. I suppose it's possible, but...

This game is going over, I have it for the game and will probably add a second half over bet. The only way the Suns have a chance is to keep scoring and pushing the pace because they don't match up well against the Lakers IMO and they know it as evidenced with D'Antoni's little interview between 1st and 2nd Quarters.
