i`m no big mccain fan,but it`s kinda tough to try and slur a guy that was held and tortured for 5 years...just look at how deformed the guy`s arms and shoulders are..

For all who don't quite understand Mccain's uncooperation with the Vietnamese government...

After being capture - they had him in a chair and were getting ready to broadcast him on televsion to show how humanely they were treating the POWs.

Before the tape could roll, McCain broke off a leg of the chair and pummeled his own face with it.

He was in solitary confinement for 2 years.

It was during a later beating where they were snapping bones and teeth that he broke down and signed a weak statement. He declined to sign another statement and took another beating.

Very disappointing that people are going to resurfaced these events during hte election.

i also heard earlier this week that after us pressure (his father was an admiral) the vietnamese were going to release him after being in casptivity for 2 years but he refused it. he felt that it wouldn't be fair to the other prisoners...so he stayed for another 4 years....that's very impressive imo..

one thing i will say,though...i think all this info should be disclosed to the public....good, bad and all things in between....stuff like this may well have a rebound effect FOR mccain....

still,i believe that the public has a right to know EVERYTHING about any presidential candidate...
