I am just curious, have you guys ever read anything about the efficacy of torture tactics? Or do you just get a hard on thinking about torturing our enemies? I would love to see a post from someone, like, I don't know, John Mccain about how America should handle the "infidels". You fvcking Christian Crusaders scare the shit out of me.

i haven't read much on how effective torturing is but i did see both george tenent & michael scheuer (who was the head of the bin laden unit for the cia) admit that torture is in fact effective & has, in their estimation, saved american lives.

and btw, according to an article in yesterday's wash. post, the dems knew about these tactics since 2002 & did not try to stop it then.

Al, the best information that I have come across (I will have to dig up some sources) indicates that torture is not an effective tactic for aquiring reliable intell. I realize that we cannot apply boyscout codes of behavior when dealing with ruthless killers, but I also believe that America must uphold the highest moral principles possible. We are a nation founded upon inalienable rights. I personally believe that it is a dangerous and slippery slope for us to lose sight of our moral foundation.

i understand what you are saying & you could be right....but as you say we are dealing with cold blooded killers who don't give rights to their prisoners, so why give them any rights...i'm also from the school that believes that you do whatever it takes to get the job done....& i'll go by what the cia people stated over anybody else...it's a tough issue & i'm glad that i don't have to deal with it...
