Middle Tenn over North Texas
NT has the 2nd longest conf winning streak in football winning 25 str. games.Today the streak ends.NT has been decimated with graduations.Only 1 OL returns.The heir apparent to Qb Hall was killed lyr in a car accident.His replacement was Byerly and he looked good.But he forgot something.It was to go to classes.He's off the team.So 2 freshman fought it out.A red shirt frosh won the starting spot.Meager.But he hasn't been impressive so true freshman Phillips will also play.Both have suspect arms.
The defense is really what is hurting.Mean Green defense has dominated the Sun Conf.There entire DL is gone.There linebackers are there only strength.There DB's are Dickey's biggest concern.Branch a former WR is starting today at Corner.
NT does have "Back to back" NCAA rushing leaders.Cobb led the nation in '04.He goes down lyr with a season ending injury.In comes super frosh Jamario Thomas and all does does is lead the nation in rushing.Very rare..Two halfbacks that led the nation.The problem is with no passing attack every defene will play 7 or 8 guys on the line.
M-Tenn comes off a loss to Bama.They played bama tough.But MT has the best passer in the conf in Marks.He was 2nd in the nation in completions and threw for just under 3,000 yds.They have 10 off starters back from lyr's team and are predicted to dethrone NT this year.
They have a spread passing attack that will cause defensive problems for the once mean greenies.MT's running game is nothing to write about but I think they will strike quick in the air.NT will have to play catchup and there only attack is a running game.Cobb and Thomas won't be in the same backfield at the same time.But either one of these guys will break a few long runs and score.
NT didn't play LSU last week due to Katrina.
North Texas St Univ was the name of my school before they changed it to U. of North Texas. We used to call ourselves NUTS. Middles nickname is MUTS. Today the MUTS beat my NUTS.
Army-Boston Col
Army will have big time problems today.Army returns 1 OL.All rookies will be protecting Dahman.Army has 4 sophs starting on defense.Ross has major concerns in todays matchups.Porter is a solid qb.They have two talented tailbacks and decent WR's.But BC's OL is massive.I think I could gain 3.2 yds on a carry.
Kiwanuka the 6'7 DE who will be a 1st rounder could be in the backfield before Dahman gets it.
O'brien is a graduate of Navy.I don't think he runs the score up on this service team today.But it's stay away game because Army can make it respectable when O'Brien starts subbing early.
Ohio St over Texas
Texas just beat Mich by 1 in the Rose ball lyr.Ohio St beat Mich 37-21.Texas lyr with Benson and Johnson are not stronger.OSU has some problems but I think Texas is in trouble today.Like the Buckeyes a lot today.
Like Cuse,TCU,Auburn and Vir Tech.Will be back later. Not putting any lines.You guys know them.I'm only doing this for fun now...
