Seems as usual the Rebs and Dems have diff agenda's

NY--http://wcbstv.com/politics/nys.goverment.shutdown.2.1745114.html

The governor is in this pickle, in part, because wild cards like Sen. Ruben Diaz Sr. (D-Bronx) and possibly scandal-scarred Sen. Pedro Espada (D-Bronx) might not go along.

Sources said the next emergency bill from Paterson will have up to $350 million in cuts to human services and mental health. But Republicans, who could become Paterson's new allies in the budget battle, aren't satisfied with that.

They want $750 million in new cuts like:

 •
Delaying the 10 percent welfare grant increases
Withholding welfare from those who don't comply with employment requirements
 • Reducing the personal needs allowance of people in drug and alcohol programs

New Jersey Towns Raise Local Property Taxes Above Christie's Proposed Cap

Critistie cap was 2.5% --Robbinsville just approved 29% increase

"New Jersey?s property-tax bills averaged $7,281 per household last year, according to the state Department of Community Affairs. The levy has climbed 72 percent since they averaged $4,239 in 1999."
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Interesting thing is--we will have two opposing views on both--

Depends if your a property owner--or someone on welfare--two opposing views--two opposing parties pandering to their respective bases.:0corn

People will have to make tough choices. Sounds like some of the proposed cuts make sense to me.
