NY Reb-
wondering your opinion on this game. My friend just bet me 50 bucks that LSU would win by 14. I took that bet! I think the tide can keep this one close, as long as LSU's D-line doesn't overwhelm brodie and the bama o-line. If he gets time, we score. Will take a little on the ML as well.

on a side note- auburn owns uga and I see no reason not to bet the farm on +7!!

Sorry to barge in on your thread, but blitz pick-up will be the key for Bama. Florida beat LSU by playing physical defensively and taking advantage of LSU's aggressive blitz packages. They ran the same play 2 times for TDs by slipping a RB up the middle of the field against an all out (wolf)blitz by the Tigers.

Punch, I'd sho'nuf take Bama +14. You got a good bet there. I'm still looking at this game at +6.5 or whatever. My gut feeling is that LSU "should" cover, but "shoulds" never won me anything. There's also a part of me saying this could be a very live home dog with a very real possibility of outright upset. When I get more clear about this game, I'll let you know.

Don't be too hasty, Mr WeeWilly.

LSU does lead the nation in Scoring D @ 9.6 PPG, are 2nd in the nation in Rushing D @ 60.3 YPG, and 4th overall in total D @ 264.2 YPG.

Offensively they avg 35.7 PPG and 428.2 YPG.

Geaux Tigers;)

You also must factor in what the game "means" to both teams. Bama is not really playing for anything except to play spoiler for LSU's SEC Championship/ BCS hopes. LSU, on the other hand, is playing for just that...to keep their hopes alive. Basically alot riding on this one for LSU which could cause them to come out and play defensive. yet I think it makes them super-prepared after a week layoff. LSU comes out hard and covers this 6.5!!!

I'd pay good money for them to lose however...

HOTTY TODDY...REBELS 6-0...

LSU's lone injury is #2 TE Demetri Robinson who will not play. OG Nate Livings is available, but Rudi Niswanger has outplayed Livings in a relief role in the eyes of the coaching staff. Shy Carey is 100%. The nimble Carey is not blessed with blazing speed, but he is a perfect compliment to the big bruising TBs and is especially effective stretching the field laterally and using cutback lanes against the grain. He has good hands and great vision making him LSUs most potent threat out of the backfield in the passing game.

The following info is from the website of LSU Guru "Dandy" Don Long:

The LSU Tigers have wrapped up preparations for the Alabama game and will have a light walk through practice today. According to my inside sources, LSU has had a great week of practice and the team is anxious to play the game. I have been told that Shyrone Carey has had an excellent week of practice and is being counted on to have a big game against Alabama. Nate Livings returned to practice Thursday and is now listed as probable for the game. The Tigers are a six and a half point favorite over The Tide and have been picked to win the game in all the predictions I have seen, but all the "experts" are picking LSU to win by less than a touchdown. I picked LSU to win 27-17.

I have received many emails from Tiger fans worried that LSU might be overlooking Alabama for the Ole Miss game and I can assure all Tiger fans that this is not the case. Coach Saban, his coaches and team leaders know that Alabama is the best 4-6 college football team in the nation and the Tide could easily be 8-2 or 7-3 on the season. I believe that LSU is going to win the game, but if they do not win it will not be because the team is not ready to play the game.
