Typical Mets, though. How can you win with Philips at the clean-up spot. He hits into a DP with two on and one out in the first. Then they leave two stranded in the second. Mets have been unsuccessful all year in getting key hits. Nothing new today. Leiter is good, but his supporting cast is just not there.

BTW, I saw a no-hitter there in 1970 or 71. Ken Holtzman pitched it against Atlanta. Ernie Banks was playing first for the Cubs. Hank Aaron made the last out of the game for Atlanta. It was the only game in Major League history, to date, (I think) where the pitcher did not strike out a single batter. That's right, a nine inning no-hitter with no strike-outs!!! Billy Williams hit a 3-run homer in the first for the only scoring.
