Let me say one word

OVER!!!

Leiter - best OVER pitcher for mets

Weaver - best OVER pit for Yanks

take into account that both teams are also hitting well, I got the OVER 9.5 last night!

Agree with that over. Anyone willing to side on either? On the fence with NYY; 5-0 against them (NYM) so far. Leiter loves to walk people; but he can strikeout batters......

Not really any good angles on this game. leiter is sub 500 against the yanks in his career with a era in the middle 3's. He has yet to lose two straight decisions this season and he got hit pretty hard in his last outing. Pretty hard to bet against the yanks though. they have won 10 of 12 against the mets last couple of years.
as for the total, line is at 10, every single person is saying over, over, my feeling is that this will be an under, i will probably wait until game time since this line keeps getting higher. leiter and weaver both need this game, if weaver doesnt bring there is speculation that claussen will stick around while weaver goes to the pen and for leiter he just needs to get the mets on track, usually when they get a good win the feed off of it and win a few games.

just my thoughts, good luck to everyone
mets/yanks under 10

Home teams are 6-13 with Hohn behind HP this year......

BUT NYM has never won a road game with Hohn, and NYY has never lost a home game with Hohn

How's that for contradicting trends:D

This may not seem like a big game to the yanks as playoff type , but it is because they need to get weaver a win. They have been working with him everyday for like 3 weeks now with a sports dr and on his mind. He has lost it all and it is in his head . Say want you want weaver is a very good pitcher who if he can just get his head right which is hard would be a major boost for yanks hell he was lights out most times with the tigers but when head is messed up and you feel like maybe you lost it then you do. Even the other older pitchers are working with him because if he keeps getting the L he will be gone and they guys on the team think he is good and a + for team but big george is ready to let him ride some where else and the teams are ready to grab him. so joe and the yanks will play their hardest to save his skin and help his head. Tough game to call but mets are cooked means more to yanks for this reason so who knows but he can't keep taking the mound and not win he can't do it out of the pen so yanks will not eat his pay for a spot starter. line is getting very thin , a win over home town mets could mean a big boost for him or it could be his last foot out the door in a few weeks when yanks get back 2 pitchers off dl.

Can't go wrong with the over, i was at shea this past tuesday seen leiter pitch against the marlins. He got hit pretty good , that's how it's been lately with him. Now getting to weaver it seems he has no confidence on the mound. He has to relax and trust his stuff but so far he's not doing it. Maybe it's the pressure because he is in new york. I know he's from cali but most pitchers from there are laid back. Maybe he should go out with wells & pick up some pussy. Anyways i got the over 9.5 left riding in a 5 teamer. I see the total is 10 now. As for the side i ain't touching it. Sorry can't bet on the mets :p good luck guys, let's go yanks

Fletcher brings up very good points, but I'm going to play contrarian for a bit. I have read that Weavers teammates are more than miffed at him for how he handles his frustration with him by blatantly showing his disgust anytime they can't make a play. Having said that, they may really not care whether he stays or goes, probably wanting him to go. I agree that with the right frame of mind, this kid could be lights out. Yankees want to win no doubt about it and Weaver is pitching for his life, but players have played less than to potential for a teammate that they didn't like before. Don't think that it happens tonight cause Yanks need the win to stay ahead of Boston. Just wanted to share this little tidbit....take it for what it's worth.

Well, with the joke in Sea I am looking for a serious move tonight. I already know what I am doing on this but now I am tempted to pick up the 1 or 2 units lost on the girls in Sea...... Would like to hear some more thoughts.

Book-Man,
Just gut feeling both SP`s will do well. Weaver has seen
handwriting on the wall with that kid (Claussen) throwing
well last nt. Leiter is a battler too. Look for tight G & U.
That`s what I played.;)  :D GL

boundbook, you want to hear some thoughts? Pocket the extra money you were looking to get back. I am not good at this, but tonight I will be. Just not worth it. Play it as you were and if you win, great. If you should lose, then you're not AS pissed..lol.

You're right. I know it and you know it and anyone who has hung around for more than 3 or more seasons knows it. AND the know the pull of the "gambling rush". Good luck to all and again PUHD: you are right.
