Oakland at The Vols

I am a little disappointed in being 2-4 on Vols games, but hit the big ones.

Oakland comes to K-town tonite after both teams had emotional games this past weekend. Oakland lost by one against Michigan State, and by 11 at Illinois. This will be their third tough game in a row, two of which were on the road.

I think most are looking for a letdown from the Vols, but freshman phenom, Tobias Harris, did not have a great game against Pitt. I look for him to come out tonight and be the man.

I have yet to pick the Vols to cover, but I think they get it done tonight against a travel weary and emptionally shattered Oakland team.

I took Oakland +12... Realize they have been traveling a LOT, but also like the way they played Michigan State and Illannoy recently. Vols might overlook these kids a little IMHO, but I've been weak so you're probably looking good.

I think Oakland wins @ Michigan this Saturday. This team is really tough with the 6-11 Benson, the 7 foot foreigner, and their athletes.

Vols seemed to get cocky in the 2nd half tonight and it hurt them.

The Grizzlies wee rated near the top of the early mid/maj polls and they have done little to disappoint. For a team from the Summit league Oakland is just scarry good and they are seemingly getting better with every game.

They can play with just about anybody right now.

Vols were up 11 at the half and up seven with 8:24 left. They didn't score until under 2 minutes left in the game. They went 0-10 from three, 10-19 from the line, and got out rebounded in the 2nd half. They lost this game because they didn't close. Oakland is a talented ball team, but this was more of a wake up call than a big loss.

I am hoping TJ goes 8-0 when Pearl is out and we have another Majors/Fulmer situation. I would have fired Pearl back in the summer, but Hammy knows if he does that, he will be following.
