will the raiders benefit from an easier schedule this year ? the vets are older, but i expect another good year. the secondary will make or break this team. many young fast players added to the def this year. jerry porter is going to turn some heads for sure. the dilemna is too many weapons for gannon. sometimes he is outstanding. other times hr is like a robot. his lack of mobility has shown up in th last couple of years. thoughts from anyone ?

I haven't really looked in to them too much, but my only preliminary concern would be Rich Gannon staying away from big hits. A tough sack might end his career. The line has always played well for him, and he always get rid of the ball quickly so these are minor concerns for right now.

They seem to be improving on defense but how long can Rice/Brown perform so damn well? Did Tampa finally lay out a map of how to beat this team? Is Jerry Porter that good, or is he milking the benefits of playing against a nickle DB every week?

Just a few preliminary questions that came to mind.....

all good points.(these same points have been issues for us raider fans the last three years. porter probably deserves to start over brown. he is very good. his vertical leap is over 3 ft. and he is quite strong. one thing that is not strong is gannon's arm. yes, tb did show the blue print, but few teams have all the def weapons they do. gl to you during the season.

Like I said all minor concerns. Porter does look good. As long as Gannon stays healthy I wouldn't worry about this team too much.

Good luck to you too.
