From CNN Senior White House Correspondent Ed Henry

Washington (CNN) - Multiple advisers to President Obama have privately told party officials that they believe Democrat Martha Coakley is going to lose Tuesday?s special election to fill the Massachusetts Senate seat held by the late Ted Kennedy for more than 40 years, several Democratic sources told CNN Sunday.

The sources added that the advisers are still hopeful that Obama's visit to Massachusetts on Sunday - coupled with a late push by Democratic activists - could help Coakley pull out a narrow victory in an increasingly tight race against Republican state Sen. Scott Brown.

However, the presidential advisers have grown increasingly pessimistic in the last three days about Coakley's chances after a series of missteps by the candidate, sources said.

But White House spokesman Bill Burton told CNN: "The President is in Massachusetts today because he believes Martha Coakley is the right person for the job and indeed will be the next senator from Massachusetts."

Yeah, maybe then we can head back into the Bush recession era... :SIB

only reason is because the people that have money knew Obama was going to win in 2008 and pulled most of their money out of the stock market, at least the smart ones.

Obamarecession :D

With discouraged job seekers exiting the labor force, the U.S. unemployment rate remained at 10% in December, according to the Department of Labor, Friday. African Americans were especially hard hit as the jobless rate rose, reaching 16.2% up from 12.1% the same time last year.

As the beleaguered economy hobbles along, employers shed 85,000 jobs last month holding the unemployment rate steady compared to November, but shooting up from 7.4% year-over-year.

?It?s still the case that things are going to get worse before they get better,? said Algernon Austin, director at the Economic Policy Institute.

Austin does not expect the increase in black unemployment to let up any time soon, as he projects the rate to peak at 17.2% in the third quarter. Overall, the Economic Policy Institute expects national unemployment to peak in the third quarter as well. ?The economy is recovering form 2009 but it?s still weak,? Austin added.

Despite crippling job losses, the national unemployment rate was buoyed by the 661,000 fewer applicants in the job market. ?We had overall job losses it?s just that the number of people who dropped out of the labor force were so large that the job losses didn?t register an increase in unemployment,? Austin said.

While employers were reluctant to boost the number of permanent positions in December, there was a spike in temporary hiring, with 46,500 workers hired.

Job losses continued across most industries, with manufacturing losing 27,000 jobs and construction shedding 53,000, while the leisure and hospitality industries and government also cut workers.

"Today's numbers underscore that we still have work to do before we can be sure that all Americans have access to good jobs,? said Secretary of Labor, Hilda Solis. ?We are working aggressively to reverse these conditions for American workers and their families.?

Maybe ILLEGAL Immigrants are taking American JOBS, the POLITICALLY CORRECT think it's OK if it's someone elses JOB.

JMHO.

Further proving you know very little about what I think and stand for... I am against illegal aliens working and living in this country, if they are avoiding taking the legal steps to becoming citizens. I think it's a big problem, and it should be addressed. You are so blindly confrontive, and at times are so wrong, it's unbelievable. But you are simply too ignorant in matters of communication, to know that.

DUH!!!! I think is how you so eloquently phrased it in the other thread, right?

It has to start with the employers, and forcing them to check documentation. But they don't - they make money off the illegal aliens, and avoid paying taxes on them. The same businesses you think are important to take care of, by the way, and think have things so tough in this country.

I wonder how many people against illegal aliens would be doing exactly what these people are doing, if they were in that position, and grew up like those people have. I'd guess the number to be about 90%. But, it's easy to ridicule others, and not care about them, when you are in great shape. That is, until you're not in great shape any more, and have to live and think differently.
