> It's a slow day in a little East Texas town. The sun is beating down, and the streets are deserted.

The town is full of Republicans, neocons really when you get right down to it. Conservatives to the core.

Times are tough, everybody is in debt, and everybody lives on credit. On this particular day a rich tourist from back east - is driving through town.

He stops at the motel and lays a $100 bill on the desk - saying he wants to inspect the rooms upstairs in order to pick one to spend the
night.

As soon as the man walks upstairs, the Conservative owner grabs the bill and runs
next door to pay his debt to the butcher.

The Republcan butcher takes the $100 and runs down the street to retire his debt to the pig farmer.

The Conservative pig farmer takes the $100 and heads off to pay his bill at the supplier of feed and fuel.

The Republican at the Farmer's Co-op takes the $100 and runs to pay his debt to the local prostitute, who has also been facing hard times and has had to offer her "services" on credit. She only fawks Conservatives as she says they have little dicks and dont take long.

The hooker rushes to the hotel and pays off her room bill with the Republican hotel owner.

The hotel proprietor then places the $100 back on the counter so the rich traveler will not suspect anything.

At that moment, the traveler comes down the stairs, picks up the $100 bill, states that the rooms are not satisfactory, pockets the money,
and leaves town.

Not one Republican produced anything. Not one Conservative earned anything.

However, the whole town is now out of debt

And you want a Conservative in 2012

And where is Obama these days ?

Lets see.

He is in Japan where he made a favorable impression on their people.

Now he is in China. He is making inroads with the Chinese. It is a important relationshio to nuture, considering what we owe them.

He is a diplomat . And even if some of you want to poo the guy and all that. You got to admit one thng . He aint a stupid man.

All you really have to do is give him a chance and believe that America will be a better place to live in the near future.

If this had been Sarah Palin she wouldn't be carrying a newspaper. Sarah didnt read much of anything. Or was it everything, I read a little of everything.

Thank God for small miracles

..............................................................

And one more things while I am on it.

Putting Hillary in his administration was a fawking stroke of genius . I do not know who came up with that idea , I think I read it was Obama solely.

Alot of good has come out of that decision all the way around. That was a real risk there. Alot of ways to go bad.

It shows alot of what Obama's character about.

There is not many that would have done this.

Think about it
..............................................................

Putting a lid on Joe Biden has also worked wonders for things.

It remains to be seen how this guy does as America moves forward. We are fortunate to have a man with the intelligence of Cheney without the total assholeian attitude. Or maybe he also has it but hasnt shown it to America like Cheney did over and over.

Beijing: As Barack Obama embarks on his maiden state visit to China.

"Obama's popularity in China hinges on his actions, not his words," the state-run 'Global Times' said in a commentary, ahead of his four-day visit to Shanghai and Beijing from today.

"Just as with his domestic electorate, the history-making US President can only convincingly win over the Chinese audience when its needs are carefully cared for and a win-win situation is achieved," it said.

Despite being a charismatic celebrity and a Nobel Peace Prize laureate, Obama is going to be greeted by a Chinese audience that is taking an "increasingly rational and mature attitude towards foreign political stars, and cares about its own interests more than ever," said the paper, affiliated to the People's Daily, the mouthpiece of the ruling CPC.

On the eve of his visit, Obama said in Tokyo that the US did not seek to contain a rising China and called for deepening of the bilateral strategic and economic dialogue.

"The United States does not seek to contain China, nor does a deeper relationship with China mean a weakening of our bilateral alliances," Obama said in a major policy speech on Asia yesterday.

Obama?s Popularity Is Higher Than His Policies, Poll Finds Share Business ExchangeTwitterFacebook|

By Jeff Bliss

Nov. 19 (Bloomberg) -- President Barack Obama is more popular than his policies, according to a poll released today.

Almost three-quarters of American voters, 74 percent, surveyed in a Quinnipiac University poll liked Obama as a person while 47 percent agreed with most of his policies.

Fifty-three percent disapproved of his handling of health care compared with 41 percent who backed the president.

Most Americans ?might like to have a beer? with Obama, said Peter Brown, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute. Still, many who voted for him ?aren?t crazy about the kind of change he is trying to bring.?

Voters opposed by 51 percent to 35 percent health-care legislation that was supported by Obama and passed by the House of Representatives on Nov. 7, the poll showed. At the same time, voters favored allowing people to be covered by a government-run insurance plan, a part of the House measure, and are against provisions that would make it harder to get the option, according to the poll?s findings.

Quinnipiac University released a poll yesterday that showed Obama?s approval had fallen below 50 percent for the first time.

Voters in the latest poll backed a so-called public option program to compete with private insurances by 57 percent to 35 percent. Forty-nine percent were against letting states opt out of the public option while 43 percent supported the idea.

Respondents opposed 47 percent to 38 percent a trigger provision, which would let people get the public option only if private insurance didn?t cover enough Americans.

The poll, taken from Nov. 9 to Nov. 16, has a margin of error of plus or minus 2 percentage points.

not bad for all the shit barrel politics he has had to deal with in the first year.

It wasnt long ago when people were spouting that we were doomed and the economy was going to crash. It was going to be a Great Depression.

Now you dont hear so much about that.

Things are beginning to look better.

The holidays are right around the corner.

Merry Christmas and a
Happy Prosperous New Year !

(Jan 19, 2009 CBS) President Bush will leave office as one of the most unpopular departing presidents in history, according to a new CBS News/New York Times poll showing Mr. Bush's final approval rating at 22 percent.

Seventy-three percent say they disapprove of the way Mr. Bush has handled his job as president over the last eight years.

Mr. Bush's final approval rating is the lowest final rating for an outgoing president since Gallup began asking about presidential approval more than 70 years ago.

The rating is far below the final ratings of recent two-term presidents Bill Clinton and Ronald Reagan, who both ended their terms with a 68 percent approval rating, according to CBS News polling.
...............................................................

I am surprised Hedge would even bring up ratings when you look at Bush rate of 20% when he left office after 8 years. :scared

how pathetic is that

and now all his friends are going to spend 240 million on a Bush Library

why

what a waste of money there.

they should use it for make a dent in the deficit Bush and President Cheney left
