There is nothing to explain about Benghazi Alan. There really isn't. The only confusion comes from the continuous misinformation that is still being passed off as fact because that's the general plan of the GOP for the last four years. To discredit her in any possible way regardless of truth and embezzling tax payer monies to do so.
There was never a stand down order issued by her, the president, her aides, nothing. That was a complete fabrication.
There was never a denial to provide more military personnel for protection by her. There was a budget increase request made by the ambassador to increase security which was voted Doreen by the Republican controlled congress. The funds were requested to increase the number of local police in Benghazi that were being trained by our military and once they were trained by us using our money they'd simply go fight for the enemy armed with their new training.
The closest base was Tripoli and there were no fighters or any air support available that would have beer able to save anyone. Even if there were, what would you suggest they do, send a cruise missile into a crowd at our embassy?
At the time there were several protests going on globally in Egypt, Jordan, Syria, etc... that were a direct result of a controversial video.
Early intelligence reports were that the protestors had elevated the protest to a skirmish. As reports came in that it was a planned attack, they were yet to be confirmed and as is the custom since we can remember, the white house releases a press release and that will be it until they could verify something different.
