Good for you--sounds like the plan
-How long has it been since you attended classes? I would hate to go back to school. I just don't have concentration level anymore. I did my online courses and tests for my required 24 hours of continuing education this weekend. -- took about 2 1/2 hour each on sat and sunday morning because I been doing them for ages--however some I had to look up and as I scanned text for answers found myself just reading words and retaining little. --its a bitch to get old.:)

I chose to leave college in the early '80's, when I got married, had a daughter (not in that order) and had to take on 3 jobs to pay the medical bills and keep us going. It was tough, but have a wonderful daughter and grandson now because of it. I have a very supportive wife who has helped me focus on school at this point, otherwise it would be impossible. The first semester was tough, but it's all been online thus far. Tomorrow morning will be my first on campus class, so that will be different. I've done better than I expected to, my adult nature and focus has served me well. We'll see when it warms up here and we get spring fever around campus, how intense I am at going inside to class...ha.

Have maintained a 3.85 GPA for two full semesters now, so doing well. This semester will be a challenge with 16 credits, two full days of work and a 2.5 hour drive those days, two days on campus, and my son in basketball and baseball in the evenings. Hope the rewards will be what I think they will, which will make for a nice life on the back end of my "career." And MAYBE, I can start playing a lot of golf again - that has REALLY suffered the past 5 years or so, with coaching baseball and school (now).

What a great story--had several lombardi quotes come to mind when reading.

You've made a lot of difference in many's lives--if the adage of what goes arounds comes around--you got lots of rewards just around the corner :toast:

Wouldn't most reasonable people agree that requiring people from Muslim countries be subjected to extra security measures about be the exact definition of profiling?

If it's true that this is our new policy, you'd have to work pretty hard trying to argue that it isn't profiling. I mean, really?

I'd say they are profiling countries most closely associated with terrorism--which will be muslims of course but includes whole country--the prob their going have is with these home grown terrorist here --like recent from chicago and dc--and little somolia in minnesota--wonder how the PC will get around the obvious in state side airports where there have to in fact profile individuals and not countries. Then it will get interesting :SIB

Wayne,

Can you even be serious with this one? Of COURSE we're profiling countries most associated with terrorism. That's the point! It seems like certain elements that advocate invading COUNTRIES and blowing up everything and anything and everybody would think that a simple measure like this makes sense?

The Muslim terrorist suspects are already on 19 different lists and will remain so. But that didn't work so well on xmas. If Bush had implemented this, certain elements would be :00hour . Tough on terror! Screw the PC dweebs!

I just don't understand the mentality here. I applaud this type of profiling, as i've said many times, just like I would under any president.

And then you switch to home-grown terrorists all of a sudden?

I think it's you that needs to tap the mat 3x, not Chadman.

I'm lost Matt --Surely you don't think I'm against profiling?

I like idea of getting around the PC police by letting those who wish to volunteer finger prints -dna-or anything else to get security pass--and let those that don't -effectively profile themselves--to be subject to intense screening.

No, of course I don't think that you're against profiling. Nor am I. I just don't get why it's so hard for you to to applaud this profiling. Shouldn't we have been doing this all along? You're bobbing and weaving all over the place talking about Somalian cells in Minnesota and DNA.

This is a first step and it IS profiling. It goes against everything that CAIR and the ACLU and the far left PC crowd want. I think it's a great thing.
