In the Bush years there was no reason for the high prices except Oil Company profits. Now, our problem today with Obama is the fault of all you dopes who let Bush get away with it! Now, you want to jump all over Obama for something you let Bush get away with.
Obama will get a bit of a pass because of what's going on in the middle east. But yes he is being watched and unlike when Bush was in charge both sides will be watching him.

Your version of history is a bit off. Once prices went past $3.00 - it was the headline story EVERYWHERE when Bush was President. I think it even made the cover of Time or Newsweek. Have you seen it headlined while Obama is in office?

A similar situation - every day while Bush was Prez, there was a casualty count from the Iraq war.....do you see the same reporting on the casualties in Afghanistan?

Personally, I do not. I am not a Bushie but I do not believe that you are being fair in your assessment of the oil / gas price situation.

Who is getting rich off high oil prices? the middle east, for sure and until this country gets it's head out of it's ass in regards to energy policy - all energy - coal, oil, natural gas, solar, wind, nuclear - and removes itself from dependence on foreign sources, we are screwed.

I am by no means rewriting history. If you do not think the oil prices going up has been a story under Obama you are dead wrong.

I also agree that so far he appears to neocon just like Bush. My point is that the Republicans gave Bush a free ride on the oil prices while they are now all over Obama. But had they been all over Bush maybe we would not be in this trouble now. And do not think that just the Arabs got rich. I seem to remember quarter after quarter Big Oil making RECORD PROFITS! They had no need to raise the prices as they did.

Now, what will you do if Obama tries to limit their profits?

For years all we heard from the loony left was how Bush and his nefarious friends had control of the world's oil. Oft mentioned was his supposed low IQ. Therefore, an idiot was intelligent enough to control the worlds oil prices, but Barak O'boob the brilliant one isn't capable of doing the same thing and thereby able to keep the prices low for all his worshipers? You libs are just freaking nuts

Skul, can't you see guys like you are the whole problem with the country right now. If you did not complain about oil prices under Bush why do complain when Obama is in office. I complained under Bush and I am complaining now. I see both as Neocons. You think everything Obama does in wrong and everything Bush did was ok. Even if they are the same.

You got to be kidding here. Two oil guys invade a country that did nothing to us which blows oil prices way out of whack along with the crooks on
wall Street. Now something happens O has no controll over and he is to blame? U righties are priceless. As for getting its head out of its ass? U do one thing against a oil company in this country the right trip all over themselves to protect them and their profits. I have to go now i have to finish writing my apology to BP like that one handjob Republican suggested back when the spill was happening.

Stevie this is how brainwashed some of theese mudder fukers are. Those profit reports were the biggest in American history but it is the Arabs that were making all the money.:mj07: Good thing Israel doesn't have all the oil or we would be paying 20 bucks a gallon. Maybe some of these righties could start the drill baby drill nonsense again. We can get off this shit any time we want but unfortunately we have some of the best politicians money can buy.

Where it is real F ing COLD
Have to agree with Spongy and trust me I am pist about the prices right now too. I think Obama should at least talk to the people about it. With Bush in office gas prices were over $4 a gallon. We are not there yet but we are getting close and I will really be pist. At least O is trying to push efforts to get the people of the country to be less dependent on oil/gas. Where as the Republicans rejoiced when oil / gas soared.

Spongy- How is the apology to BP going?

Rightie? You think i am a rightie? hahaha - that is laughable. I'm just trying to look at an issue clearly, not from a particular 'side' as it seems everyone else on this board does. Does anyone have an original thought in their head anymore?

"Two oil guys invade a country that did nothing to us which blows oil prices way out of whack along with the crooks on
wall Street. Now something happens O has no controll over and he is to blame?"

You think Obama is not to blame for this? The last time stuff like this happened, there was a weak ass Pres in the Oval Office named Carter. Strange how history repeats itself but does not exactly duplicate itself. You have Obama genuflecting to every dictator in the world and apologizing for America and then when shit breaks out, you do not think he is to blame? As the proclaimed 'peacekeeper of the world' - when that peacekeeper is perceived as soft, all shit is gonna break loose and it has. Couple that with Bernanke exporting inflation all across the globe by printing money and deflating the USD, you have a recipe for disaster.

And, if you are so brain dead as to believe that the Arab countries are not filthy rich because of oil profits then I do not know what to tell you.

The problem is not the Republicans or the Democrats - it's both of you! And you are both so pissed at the other that you can not even see how easily you are manipulated

Maybe if you stopped rewriting history you could see things clearly. When Carter was President there was an actual shortage. Unlike with Bush when there was no shortage just high prices for us and highest profits in history for the oil companies. Bush did nothing to stop it. If Obama does nothing then shame on him. But that does not resolve the shame that belongs on Bush and his supporters.

this has nothing to do with right or left it has to do with facts and reality. When Clinton left office i remember paying 73 cents a gallon. Bush had them over 4 dollars. I do blame Clinton for letting these pricks merge tho. Everyone knows both parties are to blame but one of those parties is so corrupt and cunnning only complete simpletons can not see it. As for the Arab's being rich off of oil? Not sure where i said anything about them not making any money. Let me see if i can find one of those emails that came public that Rove mistakenly let out. Ah forget it. I posted it ten times before and guys are so naive they think i wrote the dam thing. :142smilie

This is about these people all gung ho for Iraq and Afghan but want out as soon as Bush is out. I wanted out before we started and still want out today. Right now.
I blame Obama for keeping us there but Bush for starting it. But these jokers praise Bush for starting it and crucify Obama for staying but somehow they are not hypocrits.
Same with oil prices. They saw nothing wrong when it was 4 bucks a gallon under Bush but want to hang Obama because it's 3 bucks. I blame both of them.
But, if Obama was to try to put restraints on their profits or how much they can pay their CEO who do you think would jump to say he can't do that?
I think we know what the problem is in this country. It's these people that just parrot the Corporate Media.
