If McCain had been elected, do you really think more than an infinitesimily small number of people would have cared that he was born in the Canal Zone?

Of course not. Birthers are nothing more than Obama detractors lacking the mental agility to debate issues of substance.

Skul... no, I don't condone Dan Rather's failure to authenticate the Killian documents and of course, it led to him being pressured to retire as CBS news anchor in 2005.
