McCain: Feeling 'a little left out'
Posted: 10:32 AM ET

Sen. John McCain.

(AP) ? John McCain's is using a weekly radio address to take some jabs at his Democratic rival's trip abroad.

He says the presidential contest became "a long-distance affair" this week, as Barack Obama made speeches abroad to "the people of the world." McCain says he began to feel "a little left out" and wonders if the American people did, too.

No the American people felt like a part of it. Talking to other countries , geez what a novel idea.

McCain also took aim at what he called Obama's "multiple positions" on the surge in Iraq. He says Obama says he still would oppose sending extra troops to Iraq. McCain said ? quote ? that's
"not the kind of judgment we seek in a commander-in-chief."

No the kind of judgement we don't did is continued Bush warmongering policies.

The Republican candidate adds that Obama is now urging the U.S. to send two new combat brigades to Afghanistan. As McCain puts it, his opponent denies the surge in Iraq worked, while calling for one in Afghanistan.
[Sze=4]Leave it alone , it aint working. Your not pulling the strings either, unless your nose is so far up Cheneys butt you can't see daylight[/Size]

McCain also spoke about the economy and the need for the U.S. to end its dependence on foreign oil.

"I must admit I know nothing about econimics, I was pushed through the Naval Academy with a silver spoon in my mouth."
If we lose foreign oil does that mean I cant hold hands with the Arabs like George W did.

Have heard quite a bit locally, recently, that Pawlenty is picking up steam in party circles to be the V.P. nominee. Supposedly, Minnesota is a tossup state at the moment, although I doubt that will turn out to be the case. /QUOTE]

I swear the press does this in every state. Here it is Ridge McCain is looking at. I see this all the time. Take a well known guy from your state and put him in the running for VP. Same stuff with Rendell the Dem Gov. Of course he is on the short secret list of Obama. I never take what the press say's about the VP seriously. Its like a game to them. Get some talk about our state and our guy is gonna be the VP. Im sure in Jersey Obama is looking at Corzine, Delaware Biden. It goes on and on. Eventually one will be right and the other 49 wrong.

I would love to see Biden as his VP choice, but I don't think that gives him any real plus in the voting area. I sincerely hope that Biden would be his choice for Secretary of State, should he win the election, though. The man has a real command of issues, especially in areas of concern for us abroad.

DOGS THAT BARK;2064280]Speaking of family

Scott--

how well do you (or anyone else)know your candidate.

Maybe you could answer a few simple questions for us voters--
- -lets start at the beginning

-What date were his parents married

On Feb. 2, 1961, several months after they met, Obama's parents got married in Maui, according to divorce records. It was a Thursday

-How long did they live together

Close to 3 years.

-What date were they divorced

Ann filed for divorce in Honolulu in January 1964, Obama Sr. signed for the papers in Cambridge, Mass., and did not contest the divorce.

-Name his brothers and sisters--or you can just tell us how many--if that would be easier.

Bill Clinton and Franklin Delano Roosevelt each had a half-brother. And Gerald Ford had six half-siblings through second marriages of his mother and father.

But Obama's immediate family is certainly one of the more complex in presidential history.

He has eight half-siblings -- seven of them living -- by four other marriages or relationships of his parents.

His father, Barack Obama Sr., had four children by a woman he married in Kenya before his 1960 marriage to Obama's mother in Hawaii. Two of those children -- son Abongo (Roy} and daughter Auma -- were born before Barack Obama Jr.

After Obama Sr. divorced Obama's mother, he married another American woman he brought to Kenya and had two more sons -- Mark and David, who was killed in a motorcycle accident. That marriage ended in divorce, after Obama Sr. resumed his relationship with his first wife.

The elder Obama had two other sons -- Abo and Bernard -- by his first wife, though Obama wrote in his memoirs that there is some question whether another man actually fathered Bernard.

Obama Sr. later had another son, George, by a woman he was involved with but apparently did not marry.

As for Obama's mother, the former Stanley Ann Dunham, she had a daughter, Maya Soetoro-Ng, from a second marriage to Lolo Soetoro

..............................................................

Wow that took me 10 minutes to look up. Not sure what your point would be. I am sure it is in some way trying to make Obama look bad for his family in some way. And we all know that your family is something you have no control over.
At least you didn't call him boy.

Can I ask you a few questions now about your candidate John McCain ?

:0corn :0corn

Got some additions you might want to make--this is on side of parential father--will update when I find those by step father-- But so far I believe he may have more step mothers than brothers and sisters you reported. :)

McCain: Social Security Tax Hike ?On the Table?
l
Share July 27, 2008 9:32 AM

ABC News' Anamarie Rebori reports: Sen. John McCain made clear this weekend that when it comes to fixing Social Security, "everything is on the table," including a possible payroll tax increase.

"There is nothing I would take off the table. There was nothing I would demand," McCain told ABC News' George Stephanopoulos in an exclusive interview on "This Week." "I think that?s the way that Ronald Reagan and Tip O?Neill did it -- and that's what we have to do again."

When asked if that includes a possible hike in the payroll tax, McCain reiterated that nothing -- including such a tax hike -- is "off the table."

"I don't want tax increases. Of course, I'd like to have young Americans have some of their money put into an account with their name on it," McCain said.

However, in a February interview with Stephanopoulos, which also aired on "This Week," McCain made a pledge not to raise taxes as president. When Stephanopoulos asked, "Are you a 'read my lips' candidate, no new taxes, no matter what?" McCain responded affirmatively: "No new taxes."

...........................................................

McCain is flop flipping like a fawking fish out of water.

What a train wreck McCain is.

Geez Louise.

Glad to see someone try to salvage plans we have before they ad new ones.

Biggest beef on GW was his spending on social plans--medicare **--african aids and a few others.

From Stein's perspective, McCain has been running an uninspiring campaign -- one that lacks a coherent message.

"Mr. McCain is running the absolute most pathetic campaign I have ever seen in my whole life," Stein said in his unmistakable monotone delivery. "His campaign is just heartbreakingly pathetic. He is a very impressive guy. He is a brave guy, but he is running the most lackluster campaign I have ever seen in my entire life. I would have thought Bob Dole's campaign would have set a record for poor campaigns, but this one is even worse. I mean it is shocking."

While Stein identifies himself as a Republican, he certainly does not always march in lockstep with GOP leadership. For example, Stein is backing Al Franken's bid for the Senate. That's right, that Al Franken, the liberal Democratic comedian who is seeking to oust incumbent Republican Sen. Norm Coleman in Minnesota.

"He is my pal, and he is a really, really capable smart guy," Stein said of Franken. "I don't agree with all of his positions, but he is a very impressive guy, and I think he should be in the Senate."
