Companies exist to make money, not to give out jobs. The output of a successful business is they need help, aka jobs. Headcount is the most expensive expense in any business. If a company is burdened with additional expenses they have to make adjustments to survive. It's really pretty simple once you get past the social nonsense. It's about the bottom line not how you feel about it.
