Yes we can. . . yes, yes, yes we can. . .yes, yes, yes we can. . . yes, yes, yes we can. . .

:toast:

I love that . Thanks!

Evidently your paper looks at a few facts and doesn't base their opinions on personal bondings--

--and as a side note- you just recently went in business for yourself--I might suggest you keep
your infatuation with O or any other tax and spend liberals under your hat around clients. Most are on opposite end of your redistribution of wealth agenda. I tried to warn Agent about this--but he did not listen--don't end up same way.

http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/opinion/editorials/ct-edit-endorse-20101027,0,873943.story

Endorsing reform

we are endorsing more Republicans than Democrats for the legislature, and Republicans for governor and U.S. senator. Those choices are influenced by guiding principles: limited government, free markets, individual responsibility, personal liberty, free expression, enterprise and opportunity.

Our endorsements also are driven by a belief that Illinois state and local governments are on a path to catastrophe. Two decades of fast-rising spending ? compounded by astonishing billions in taxpayer debt, unpaid bills and unsustainable pension obligations ? have slashed this once-brawny state's job creation record to 48th in the U.S., and its credit rating to ? 50th. And what is the Illinois Senate poised to consider two days after the election? Another $4 billion in borrowing. How suspicious is that timing?

Now look around.
Government here is run by Democrats for as far as the eye can see. Every statewide office. The Illinois House. The Illinois Senate. Cook County. Chicago City Hall. Democrats even dominate the state Supreme Court. (Try that sentence on a friend who lives in a state where judges are chosen on merit, not political connections.) Consider:

?If you as a voter, like our editorial board, want to reverse the Illinois death spiral, then you have to stop habitually re-electing people who have mismanaged this state, tolerated cronyism and clout, and driven employers elsewhere.

?That means that, come Tuesday, you have to dump a lot of incumbents.

?This being Illinois in 2010, the great majority of incumbents are Democrats.

So do your job. This year we see a real opportunity to restore some balance, some competition of ideas, in Illinois. An opportunity to elect fresh blood ? particularly in the legislature, where
House Speaker Michael Madigan and Senate President John Cullerton have logged a total of 72 years. Do you think that re-empowering them by electing their loyalists will give you anything but more of the same policies and insatiable hunger for power they yearn to perpetuate?

We've endorsed candidates who'll support ethics reforms Madigan and Cullerton have blocked, and who'll overhaul spending and borrowing.

This year also is an opportunity to elect a governor who'll say no to Madigan, should the speaker retain his three-decade grip on state government. And this is the year to keep Madigan's ally Joe Berrios out of the assessor's office by electing Claypool, as we discuss in the editorial above.

This notion of a newspaper endorsing candidates who'll rock the status quo ? who might actually solve problems ? is difficult for many government insiders to comprehend.

We hear complaints that we aren't trying to elect equal numbers of Republicans and Democrats, as if parity is the goal. We also hear complaints that we've endorsed people who aren't likely to win, as if electoral prospects have anything to do with who's best for the job.

Truth is, we're endorsing the candidates who can reform Illinois before it completes the current regime's devastating race to the bottom. We hope you'll elect better leaders. On Sunday and Tuesday, we'll print on this page our full list of endorsements. Or print the list yourself, in an easy-to-read format at a new link created just for this purpose: chicagotribune.com/ballot.

If you sense that an impatient Tribune will do everything it can to help you elect those better leaders, you're right.

If, though, you sense that Republicans get free endorsements here, you're wrong. The numerous Democrats and Greens we've endorsed ? and their unhappy Republican opponents ? want a word with you.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

As a side note I see Chi politics carrys on as Rahms competitor mysteriously drops out giving Rahn free ride to Mayor.

--a little history--
Actually O won his 1st political job same way--by getting opponants disqualified.

It was his 2nd attempt as he lost 1st run against only opponanant who proved more favorble in his district--that was ex black panther Bobby Rush.:SIB

Didn't see it, Dogs. Hopefully you didn't leave the stock market. It's like printing money. . . but I'm sure you saw that coming, too.

Nothing like a supporter of redistribution of wealth--tax increases on wealthy--dividends/capital gains--and for every free ride there is--
--trying to lecture someone about finances:facepalm:

I'm not lecturing. I don't remember what your plan was to combat whatever you thought was going to happen. I'm hoping that whatever it was returned 40% of your investment like the stock market has done since Obama took office.

Bobby You better pray there are no perspecive clients--tuning in on your financial wisdom.

Since you got Scott-tramp and the other like thinker chiming in let us look at the facts vs opinion.

Before I get into it lets me explain an economic constant which evidently your clueless on.

If you lost 50% of your assets you will have to gain 100% on remainder to get back to even.
(feel free to make copy for future reference)

Now hold that thought and note the following and time stamps--

Amazing how a person can get his ass handed to him and love it because of political convictions--is why (despite your rhetoric)you will always remain groveling for that gov tit--and hoping for that redistribution of wealth. Maybe you can get Bobby to give you some tips on recouping your losses:0008

Put a few facts in order with time lines :)

---and Bobby--feel free to stop down in the mover shakers section--if you have any more of these "Pearls of Knowledge" you wish to share :SIB

Scotty... Halloween, Christmas, Birthdays, etc. are all part of a vast liberal conspiracy to teach kids to ask for handouts so by time they're adults, they're sucking that government tit. They also indoctrinate adults to socialism by making wealth redistribution socially acceptable.

That's straight from the Tea-Bagger Handbook... :142smilie
