WOW!! What a miraculous recovery. Wonder what odds Vegas would have given him to have it heal like that :clap:
My bother in law got bit on the tip of his index finger by a copperhead, and he said it was the most miserable thing you could ever go through times ten. They took a skin graft off of his azz, and he now has hair growing on the bottom of his finger. (Note: I'm pretty sure he is not BTJ, but I will do further investigation to confirm his online identity)

this is what your arm looks like after a surgeon performs a fasciotomy following a snake bite.
I obviously don't know the medical particulars of this case, but way too many unnecessary fasciotomies are performed following venomous snake bite, according to the most experieced surgeons (someplace in AZ I forget) in this specialty.
Copperheads can be nasty too, tho there is not a single confirmed case of a copperhead bite directly killing someone.
I remember once, in my youth, hunting for grey-banded kingsnakes near Big Bend Texas and met some blokes from the UK who wanted a pair of Western Diamondbacks to take home and breed.
My buddy (now perfesser at SWTS) promised fellow we'd save a female Western Diamondback for him. To sex the animal, you gotta carefully insert probe into urogenital vent of snake while your very trustworthy and steady buddy holds the rattler upsidedown! (I only assisted in a few) The first 16 rattlers we found on road were dudes cruising for babes. Had to sex frikkin' 17 rattlers before we found a female!

I wonder how many people will die from snake bites in the wake of the hurricane? Snakes will be heading for high ground, too........
