I have no idea what a GSP is? I thought he made picks here at MJ's every now and then.

Websters defines "a GSP" as an ass-kicking no-nonsense french canadian that will beat you down then help you up when it's all said and done and thank you for your participation. That is a GSP.

That pretty much covers it.

humanized dog fighting is all MMA is. pointless. from the people I know that actually like this shit, you can definitely tell there is a "type" that it appeals to. not a coincidence those people are also intrigued by other simplistic things.

yes, so I don't understand why with all the technology and advancements we have in 2012, people are intrigued by two men rolling around groping each other inside a cage until one of them is unconscious. seems like caveman entertainment.

I know it is pointless but here it goes.

First of all to the human cockfighting/dogfighting reference. The participants are not doing it against their will. I also believed the same things many other people believed but really had not ever sat down and watched a fight especially with someone that might know what is going on. There is a lot more there than meets the eye, especially when they are "humping eachother" on the ground. It takes a little getting used to, and it is not for everybody but it's a lot more than two grunts streetfighting. A lot of them have tattoos and some even have retarded haircuts but there is always great respect between the fighters. I am not going to tell you that if you don't watch and think it's the greatest you are an idiot, just don't bash it if you have never watched a couple of fights. I am just a casual fan but it just seems like "mainstream" has dismissed it because of it's reputation from decades ago.

Damnit, I promised myself I wouldn't try.

Post of the year:00x15

If one says the stupid "human cockfighting comment", they truly have no clue what the hell they are talking about. You just have to tune those ill-informed people out. If you don't like the sport then fine. But you are just an ignorant person who is completely clueless and misinformed if you say that moronic "human cockfighting" comment.

Oh and for what it is worth 90 percent of MMA fighters are the nicest people you will ever meet. And most are respectful and will do anything for their fans.

Again if you don't like the sport then fine. But don't say that stupid "human cockfighting" comment. It makes you sound like hedgehog when he talks politics.

I gotta agree with this.

And you would be wrong:0008

Moronic uninformed comment. Completely clueless post. He has no idea what the hell he is talking about.

To compare a sport like MMA to a disgusting practice like cockfighting or dog fighting is just plain stupid.

I like airportis, but his comments are uninformed and just plain moronic.

You just proved my point that you have no idea what you are saying.

You have no idea what you are talking about. Those are not the rules of MMA. Not even close.

You really have absolutely no idea what the fuck you are talking about.

You are clueless as to the rules and as to how the sport works. You don't like the sport fine. But comparing it to the disgusting act of two dogs fighting is revolting.

OK, Kick, I see that you don't like the dog fighting reference, fair enough.

Is this not two people going into a cage with the purpose to inflict pain, harm and potentially injure another human being?

Outside of that cage the things they do would be considered a felony.

What are the rules and the intent of the contest, then?

Has anyone died as a result of a match?

Last I checked if I was to run at full speed and tackle somebody on the street I would surely be charged for assault. Things being illegal outside of the confines of the ring/playing field as a litmus test for the civility of a sport has never made much sense. Using those rules gambling is barbaric because outside of a poker table I wouldn't be able to "steal" another mans money.
No fighter has ever died in a UFC or WEC sanctioned event.
You are not going to be blindsided in MMA like you would be in football, keeping track of one guy trying to kill you is easier than 11 guys trying to kill you.
