I dropped my car off this morning to have my speaker in the back of my car replaced!

I was told that it would cost $180 installed , here the guy just ordered a regular speaker:mad: and just called to tell me he made a mistake:( THE SUB WOOFER needs to be replaced $$480 :eek: :eek: :eek:

I don't know anything about this stuff alls I know is my stereo wasn't sounding right AT ALL.................Is this a normal amount to pay to have it fixed?????

That seems a bit much. Speakers are very easy to replace, you should just do it yourself. All you have to do is take the old one out and put the new one in. Theres two wires, + and -. Just take them out of the old speaker and put them in the same spot on the new speaker.

That is BS........Go get your car and have Ray fix it! Shoot for almost 500 bones I could have put in a damn refigerator!


Just need to find a replacement Sub woofer! They are not that expensive!

Thank god for you guys..........I told the guy I will wait untill I come home from vacation because he had to order the speaker, sub woofer WHAT EVER the hell!and he said it won't be in untill tom. A friend of mine is a writer and may be able to get me cost for the part! Problem is ................I don't let Ray do stuff like that :D You have to understand they took off 6 pieces of trim from inside to get to the speaker :eek: my husband would NEVER be able to get it back together without throwing something! JUST THE KIND OF GUY HE IS.............We have this understanding :D He takes care of his cars and trucks and I take care of mine:shrug: LOOKS LIKE MY STEREO PROBLEM WILL CARRY ON :(

Blue maybe you can price that for me?? the part in the meantime I will be shopping around.

Such a shame that guy had to pull that ON ME of all people my son will be getting his first car and I was going to bring it to him to do the tinting on the windows and some other extras he does HE LOST MY BUSINESS:mad:

well what are the specs for the woofer?

name & model #? dimensions? i'll check online to see
what the going rate is.

i've been out of the loop for a while when it comes to car audio shit but 480 just sounds way too high for a woofer.

Tara ~ don't mind lil' Pee Pee his daddy found his doll toy and made his throw it away and write 5000 times I will not have sex with platic dolls every again so now he has callaus on his hands and he can't even clean his pipe himself. He is a little frustrated these days so he may take it out on you just ignore him. Poor lil pee pee. Maybe the softball team could throw up some $$ and get him a hooker for the night when he is off punishment from Mommy and Daddy.

I gave 90.00 for my Woofer that I put in my Expedition! I got it at a stereo center here in town and installed it myself! 480.00 is toooooooooooo much to pay! AS far as the 6 pieces of trim that were pulled off to get to the speaker............Wow that is all of 24 little screws! That kind of Labor rates I am moving to Philly and setting up shop!

Helen ~ you know how sensitive Pee Pee is about being well you know ...... a virgin. He is going to have a temper tantrum now. His Mommy and Daddy are going to have to kick down his door now to make him eat. I am telling you we should hook him up with a hooker this way maybe the neighborhood kids will stop teasing him if they see an attrative woman leaving his house late at night. We just have to make sure his mom and dad are gone.
