Anyone think Shillery "loaning" her campaign money is an ominous sign? A media ploy to show how much she truly believes in her campaign?

All I know is the public books show Barry over $30 million raised in Jan '08 and Ole Hill around $5 million? Smells like her war chest was all corporate boondoggle cash raised at the beginning and she can't legally draw anymore out of them. She's having a hard time squeezing $$$ out of "the people."

Lets let Vegas tell the story........

Honestly don't know, Wayne. I still think Hillary will end up with the nomination, but money is a big thing moving forward and Obama has it. The remaining debates could be interesting, and there could be some positioning by people like Edwards - an endorsement by him could swing some people. I have to believe that if there are no more fireworks between Hillary and Obama that it might be setting up for a ticket, and a "unified" convention. I think it would be great if it were decided at the convention - would be great theater.

I think that ticket would be pretty strong, a perfect storm of excited folks - women, blacks...very motivating ticket in many ways.

Vegas been back and forth all over the board on odds doc.

I was hoping to get some response from Dems on "the issues" but guess they are still pondering :)

Dem headquaters admit they are in a trap with this going to drag out till who knows when. They opted for this system of delegates back in 84 when Jessie Jackson threw a hissy on his camaign and it's come back to bite them.

Saw where when its over they are strongly considering awarding the other VP with no selection--however I see inner turmoil of great magnitude--as expect delegates to be close and H winning on Super delegates and the race card and riots to follow.

H was cruising till she brought Bill into equation and got a double dose of polarization
Barrack has been a Tony Robbins motivational candidate--lots of enthusiam and no substance--however has been press's darling and they have turned on the clintons.

clintons have found out already what the Rebs better prepare for--their hands are tied on attacking without the PC crowd screaming racial.

They have to play by diff set of rules.
I find it quite amusing on commentators explaining "southern states play into Obama's strengths--have yet to here the 1st acknowledge what they all know--he's carried every state with over 20% black population and will probably continue to do so.
Laughed my ass off on guy on CNN who said Obama "might" have slight edge in DC vote despite H's Washington connection.
Hell win it 40% margin minimum, and if Marion Barry was running against Abe Lincoln he win by same margin:142smilie

Hey Chad --posted before I saw your--believe also H gets it on Supers--been lots of money coming into her campaign past few days--also see where Obama wants her complete tax return all of a sudden (remember discussion yesterday on where the 5 mill come from--hmmm)

I still think combo ticket of H and O together would be weakest ticket. O adds little to votes she would not already get in national election but loses several via hispanics and others.

IMHO H and Richardson would be VERY TOUGH ticket to beat--and believe H and Dems know it.

On other spectrum--you add someone good in economics to mcCain ticket like Steve Forbes and you got pretty powerful 1-2 punch.

The Dems would have had easy going in 08 if they would have had moderate candidates--but Rebs did themselves no favor this time either.

Who wins and why?
Comments please!

I have no idea who will win. It will be close. I was once very pro-Hillary, but now I'm fairly indifferent. The two are on the same side of the issues that matter to me (and I'm not gonna lie... there aren't a TON of issues that I really care about all that much), so to me, the only issue is electability. And I honestly have no idea who is better in that regard.

I know that Fox has been bashing Hillary and at the same time electing her as the inevitable nominee since day one. It is going to OBama. Sorry Fox. All of that effort was for not.

OBama vs McCain?

:mj07:

The Bush approval rating is less than 23% with the Iraq occupation support trailing behind. And the GOP is going to put up a Bush backing old white guy with a hardon for Iraq with as much personality as a canker sore as their candidate?

Gee, wonder who is going to win this thing.

I am glad that you find your racism funny Wayne. I personally find it very offensive.

You PC people find everything that don't meet your agenda offensive Jabbers

Its not racism its a fact----Is saying Obama has carried every state with 20% or more black population racist or fact. You better get on the bureau of statistics and census dept--for including all their racist data--

---and speaking of fact I believe you got your GW 23% confused with congress approval rating--which is lowest in history of polls.

P.S. you might want to take a page from Charles Barkleys playbook--

No Thanks

Former basketball star Charles Barkley says he definitely plans to run for governor of Alabama some day, but he wants no help from Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson.

The New York Post reports Barkley says in an upcoming Playboy magazine interview: "I don't believe in them. They always play the race card, and you can't always play the race card. Sometimes the race card is needed, but not in every situation. We have to hold blacks more accountable for their actions."

GW Things will get VERY interesting before its over.
Obama already sees handwriting on the wall with his little speech yesterday on if he wins state delegates the supers should not over ride "the people".--
HOWEVER--while I can see distinct possiblity of him eeking out a few more at end considering demographics of states left--H has trump card--
What about Mich & Fla with large electorates which I won in landslides--how are you going to disenfranchise (I love that word) them considering they will play very prominent part in national election--and how can supers ignore that fact

The fur will be flying before this is over--I guarantee it--while Obama has very wisely kept Jessie and the crews support off the radar--they will come to the front--

As far issues......these two really aren't that different. I suppose thats why they're not getting bounced around here. Barry a little further left, but substantive differences are few. I hope it comes down to the convention........finally worth watching again for the process instead of seeing who the next party "star" will be.

Richardson fits the VP bill no matter who tops the ticket. Either one gets the "race" vote in November.......the GOP has hung themselves quite nicely on immigration even with McCain, so "Latinos" will be in the fold even w/Barry........Richardson would seal the deal there. When it comes down to brass tacks, it will still be a vote down party lines w/ the 20% or so independent/undecided voters deciding the winner. Unless Bloomberg sticks his head in there....

imo richardson would be a very weak vp candidate....all you have to do is find the tape of richardson answering a question from the singer melissa etheridge about gays...it's unbelievably weak....

jw...

first i don't give a shit about fox or not so i'm not here to defens them...but i haven't noticed them saying anything unusually negative about hillary..if you can find anything i would appreciate seeing it....just for my own education...

meanwhile nbc (brian williams) & msnbc has practically stated they are for obama.....the reporter who just got suspended by mnbc for saying something negative about hillary's daughter also practically said he is for obama a few months back....& hillary said she may never appear on nbc ever again (mainly about the remark about the daughter)....

:mj07: true that....

I should think his service record and ethnicity is about as deep as anyone would get into him as VP......lots of lip service paid to who balances tickets and the like........then the guy just disappears for 4 yrs.......unless he screws up badly:shrug:

and let me add, what if this goes to a brokered convention?.....what if neither candidate has enough delegates?...

they go to convention, and say that obama leads in the delegate count...

then,as is expected, say bill and hill pull some political strings and get the nod due to the roughly 7-800 super delelgates(party politicos/senators etc)....

can you begin to imagine the chaos that would ensue from all these young obama supporters and the black community?....

i`m salivating at the prospect..

Dogs fwiw....

I don't think Charley and the white wife would have gone over well with the Rev Blackmailer and his East Coast compadre in the 1st place. Methinks Charles knew this already.

Nice play Charles
