not you of course GW, I am referring Hegdehog.

GW and I disagree on most everything, but in reality we would probably agree on more than we disagree on. The difference being is that GW has an IQ well above 80. Hegde, you, on the other hand, are hopelessly stupid.

I thinik OBama would crush McCain, as you know.

Weasel, you are attacking Colin Powell for not being a true conservatve? You are a Bush backing neocon, but you think Powell is not a true conservatve?

How many quotes do you want me to "cut and paste"?

I can start with George Will and end with Pat Buchanan, and I will provide any PJ Orourke's that you want in between.

Barry Goldwater is rolling in his grave.

I am a Bush backing conservative.

Wayne, what's your take on how Kentucky goes? I think Hillary wins pretty easily. Too many people associate Obama with a muslim. I think Kentucky will be won by the Republican party in the general election too.

also agree that the Democrats royally focked up by not putting up at least a moderate candidate for the nomination. I can't see myself voting for either Hillary or Obama, and I really don't want to vote for McCain either. Sad, sad election this fall. Candidates all suck.

I think Ky goes Hillary by small majority--

In national election depends on who VP are--but think w/o them taken into scenerio would call it close between H and McCain--with slight edge going McCain. In Mccain/Obama- McCain wins easily.

A misconception I've seen in media in general pertaining to national election--is turnout of Dems vs Rebs in primary/caucus equating to turnout in National election. By their take the Dems would win every state per primary/caucus turnout--which is never the case. Dems have a segment of their voters that are much more vocal/rah rah types of personalities--as proven in demonstrations/ protest ect--whens last time anyone saw conservative protest/demonstration--and could anyone fathom them taking off work for a million man march :)
--however as before they will turn out on election day.

You sleep OK Jabbs?

Thought it was KOD for second....

......you forgot ugly, lazy, and disrespectful.....

.......on the lighter side, Barry dropped 3 beatings yesterday on America's Sweetheart.......small states to be sure, but 3 different regions, 3 solid wins.....

Maybe the Supers run away from Shill to keep the crowd from burning the Pepsi Center down? I should think we're just days away from more crying, seeing as how she only sheds tears when her political career looks shaky. (Editor: posted before reading gw thread:shrug: )

Hey hedge......DEAD wrong about the world laughing at us over a black or woman.....I would think it would shock them that we could even dream it up. Whether Powell, Condi, Barry, Shill......wouldn't it somehow reflect some progression, or maturity, or sophistication with regards to the planet's perception of how we do business? I'll hang up and listen to your answer in case jabbs has a hangover.....

I can think of one elements perception Doc--

Terrorists--can anyone argue they would not prefer the way things were before this admin.

What good is talk without any threat of action--you only have to look back at Dems Nobel peace prize winner-Carter--he rattled on for 444 days with squat--and the day he's out Iran releases hostages knowing what will be their fate.

--from the opposite perspective but just as damaging--what citizens in their right mind would go against dicatators in Iran-Venezula-Pakistan ect if they needed an ally they could depend on--that wouldn't run at 1st hint of adversity.

One final thought--could any american or anyone else in their wildest dreams ever imagine that AQ would bomb us and 7 years later be reading reports like below and have a political party and many of their followers cringe at the prospect of our winning :nooo:

US: al-Qaida in Iraq weakened

By LAUREN FRAYER, Associated Press Writer
1 hour, 55 minutes ago

BAGHDAD - A diary and another document seized during U.S. raids show some al-Qaida in Iraq leaders fear the terror group is crumbling, with many fighters defecting to American-backed neighborhood groups, the U.S. military said Sunday.

The military revealed two documents discovered by American troops in November: a 39-page memo written by a mid- to high-level al-Qaida official with knowledge of the group's operations in Iraq's western Anbar province, and a 16-page diary written by another group leader north of Baghdad.

In the Anbar document, the author describes an al-Qaida in crisis, with citizens growing weary of militants' presence and foreign fighters too eager to participate in suicide missions rather than continuing to fight, said Rear Adm. Gregory Smith, a U.S. military spokesman.

"We lost cities and afterward, villages ... We find ourselves in a wasteland desert," Smith quoted the document as saying.

The memo cites militants' increasing difficulty in moving around and transporting weapons and suicide belts because of better equipped Iraqi police and more watchful citizens, Smith said.

The author of the diary seized near Balad wrote that he was once in charge of 600 fighters, but only 20 were left "after the tribes changed course"_ a reference to how many Sunni tribesmen have switched sides to fight alongside the Americans, Smith said.

The switch by the Sunni tribes, whose resulting U.S.-backed groups are often referred to as awakening councils, has been credited with helping reduce violence across the country.

The councils were key to helping push al-Qaida out of Anbar province, once one of the country's most violent. The terror group's top leaders are now based somewhere in northern Iraq, Smith said, having moved out of Anbar and into Diyala province last year.

The U.S. military described both documents, but allowed reporters to see just four pages from them, citing security reasons.

The documents tell "narrow but compelling stories of the challenges al-Qaida in Iraq is facing," Smith told reporters in Baghdad's heavily guarded Green Zone.

"This does not signal the end of al-Qaida in Iraq, but it is a contemporary account of the challenges posed to terrorists from the people of Iraq," Smith said.

He said the documents are believed to be authentic, Smith said, because they contain details that only al-Qaida in Iraq leaders could know about battlefield movements and tactics.

Interesting.....

What I don't get is why we automatically think that if the Dems win, we become big pussies all of a sudden? Can we be vigilant without overt aggression and pull off what we all want........peace of mind, security, or whatever we want to call the ideal?

I dunno......I've been against the whole Iraq enterprise from go.......there have been some inroads last 18 months (as you point out above) and, in fact, this has been suppressed by mainstream 4th estate outlets.....my fear about that place is Al-Sadr and his Mahdi Army onthe bench resting up........I have this sinking feeling he's just waiting for us to leave so he can get medieval and play his rather formidable hand, so we arent going to be able to just pull up stakes and skate in 2009 no matter what happens in this election.

One bit of evidence against my "are we pussies?" angle is how Iraq has disappeared as an issue for the Dems.......they spit the bit (always cringe hearing about GOP "obstructing" them, when they really just quit) on their "mandate" from 2006 and now just don't have the time to keep the flame alive what with the big vote coming and all.....as if they will get everything they want with a Dem in the WH.

Anyways, I'm rambling..........but I always thought the answer to the extremists is butter, not guns. Why not be a little more sophisticated and find a way to stop the problem at the ground level? Schools, hospitals, skills........we're trying, and I get the fact we're in the muscle-flexing phase of ultimately getting them infrastructure and some semblance of politcal stability......but can't we have a little softer touch than we've shown so far without it looking like capitulation? Engage the other players who want and need oil and work together? I don't think there are any questions regarding our ability to punch someone in the mouth if they care to try and pluck some eagle feathers..........why not check out the other clubs in the bag? ......now that's a barrage of mixed analogies:mj07:

I'm just a misguided ex-hippie with a job, y'know.....but agression begets more aggression imo.......... I hope we can learn to speak softly AND carry a big stick:shrug:

I did say what seems like 100 years ago back in August. The Dems looked like who Americas is. With a Black & White, Male & Woman. Throw in Richerson and about only missing part is Asia. And Reb's at rhat time were the 6 white guys. Now two. And here we have a Black and Woman left.
About time. How old is our country anyway?
Show we really can catch up with rest of world.
And if all the Dem's show up in November that have so far. Your getting a Black or Woman.

Vegas been back and forth all over the board on odds doc.

I was hoping to get some response from Dems on "the issues" but guess they are still pondering :)

Dem headquaters admit they are in a trap with this going to drag out till who knows when. They opted for this system of delegates back in 84 when Jessie Jackson threw a hissy on his camaign and it's come back to bite them.

Saw where when its over they are strongly considering awarding the other VP with no selection--however I see inner turmoil of great magnitude--as expect delegates to be close and H winning on Super delegates and the race card and riots to follow.

H was cruising till she brought Bill into equation and got a double dose of polarization
Barrack has been a Tony Robbins motivational candidate--lots of enthusiam and no substance--however has been press's darling and they have turned on the clintons.

clintons have found out already what the Rebs better prepare for--their hands are tied on attacking without the PC crowd screaming racial.

They have to play by diff set of rules.
I find it quite amusing on commentators explaining "southern states play into Obama's strengths--have yet to here the 1st acknowledge what they all know--he's carried every state with over 20% black population and will probably continue to do so.
Laughed my ass off on guy on CNN who said Obama "might" have slight edge in DC vote despite H's Washington connection.
Hell win it 40% margin minimum, and if Marion Barry was running against Abe Lincoln he win by same margin:142smilie

your getting a half black or the Clintons

I'm gonna say the evil white males represent most of America. How do either these two represent most of America on their own.

By your reasoning America should have had a Black President by now... If what is happening because of your surmize; why didn't Jesse or Al do as well as Obama ? How to you explain the White vote He is getting even in the south and the money He is raising.... Obama is not in this race because of race and He could not be in this race with out His broad appeal.. To think His success is race based may be a comfort to you and others like you but it is not true. The first Black President who ever he or she may be, will not be elected because they are Black but because they are elected by the majority. Blacks are < 15% of Americans, they can't elect a president . I wounder what people like Sponge think about the broad range of people that have voted for and given money to support Him. People like Obama win or lose and this kind of reaction to them is the future of America. Until We look beyond race and gender we will prolong our journey to being the undisputed greatest Country / Leader of the World. I'm not saying Obama is the one but America and the World needs a great leader. Those of you that are happy with America, think how good She could be if we bring the bottom closer to the top here at home and around the World. The Great Bush 43 siad : you are either with us or against us.. That's about the smartest thing He has said as President. The problem is, He has done nothing to get Americans on his side, forget about the rest of the World. There has to be a yellow brick road, there has to be something in it for the masses.

This country is not ready for a black president or a woman president. I think conservatives will get out and vote for McCain. If the dems win we are in big trouble:mj08: We will be the laughingstock of the world and terrorists will be loving it. Also, make sure if the liberals win divest every dime you have in the stock market and move to cash, taxes will go up 50%, scary isn't it?

I was not going to respond to this but this is flat out _______________ & _____________ & ______________ & ___________ & ___________ ....... I'll let others fill in the blanks. :mj07:
