Horns,
All I said about Yashin was that the impoversihed Sens wouldn't pay him what he deserved. If he was making $4.5 million and then as soon as he was traded that was upped to $9 million per, clearly he wasn't getting what he deserved.
Last time I checked, Ottawa didn't have an owner. I have heard a lot about soon-to-be owners but until one gets approved, any speculation about adding free agents or even retaining the players they do have once they are eligible to make real money is just that, speculation.
And one more thing I have to add. If a guy is worth $1.8 billion, he didn't get to be worth $1.8 billion by being an idiot. The Sens can't draw, they are in too small a market and there isn't enough corporate support. Now, I like seeing as many hockey teams in Canada as possible, but if the Sens do stay in Ottawa, there is no question that they will stay there as a franchise destined to lose most of their top level players whenever they are eligible to test the open market. Enless the guy is the second coming of Ewing Kauffman, he isn't going to fritter away part of his fortune on a perennially money losing hockey club.
