OK Georgia guys question for you....

Just booked flights for Georgia in May. Looking to relocate in the Augusta area. Son is at Fort Gordon and would like to be within 30 mins of there. Going to be checking out the area and if anyone has tips it would be appreciated. Thanks!

I would love to help, but I am not very familiar with Augusta outside of the touristy places you would find on every Augusta-focused website.

Cant help you with the South Carolina Side but if I was going to live that way it would be lake Oconee about 45 minutes west of fort gordon straight down I-20. Not sure what your looking for $ wise or activity wise but Lake occonee ranges from upper scale on the north side of the lake and gets a little more moderate the further south you go. They have some of the best golf in georgia with reynolds plantation offering 5 courses there. Lake Oconee sits between Fort Gordon and ATL so you could slip over and watch your mets get beat up on at the Ted:SIB If isolation is what you are looking for there is plenty of that to be had all around that area. Really would help to know what kind of things your looking for. Hope that helps a little.
